It was an elbow. Not terrible, not a flying chicken wing or anything, but definitely a elbow

Better period but all they have to show for it is one fluke goal from their own blue line, about ten shots directly into the chest, and about 20 shots high and wide.

Funny, that's my read on it as well. Gulutzan hockey is the vibe for sure.

I'd kill for some Hartley hockey in the 3rd

And some bodychecking

This whole story is so weird. For a guy who wants to leave he really seems to be playing hard.

My guess at the end of the day is that Ward somehow mends the relationship.
Ward doesnt even know how to throw a stick or have beers on a train

I am still waiting for Tkachuk-Lindholm to impress me.

Hell, to do anything.

Or at least welcomed it to try and get more opportunity (in his mind). But he isn’t a quitter type player.

Sometimes I have to pinch myself as this season feels like a like Gulutzan Flames hockey rerun.

CGY had some looks (gave up some good ones to though) and just need to keep with it, shoot the puck get zone time. But support the puck all over the ice.

What has he really done yet this season? About as noticable as any of the other plugs.

Fast forward to tonight, but each game it seems more and more they're slowing down in the middle. Also have the flames had a 2 on 1 or breakaway yet this game?

It just feels sluggish
The d, especially Tanev. Andersson and Val have been engaging all game. Has almost led to a couple of breakaways.

The issue I see is that we can’t make simple plays to get out of our own zone. Passing needs to be more thoughtful and clean.

The first pass is almost always D to D, then to a forward who is staring down a fully prepared team in 1-2-2 formation. There was one play towards the end of that period where Gio looked off Anderson and passed up to Bennett at centre ice, who had room to skate and enter the zone and we ended up with some scoring chances. I assume Ward gave him a talking to for such a wild olay play when he got back to the bench.

Too late. They need to put Lindholm back with Jonny and Monny.

Well at least for this 3rd period.

I think the Flames are playing well. They do need a bit more from the Lindholm Tkachuk line. They really haven't had a shift the team can build off of.

WPG is in the 1-2-2 looking to counter no doubt. CGY has to beat that with numbers.

That and be a lot cleaner with their exits. Short passes and get up the ice with numbers. No turnovers at the bluelines don't feed their transition.

Just get in there boys!

Give that a little more than 8 games to see if they will click. It is too early in the year to start the blender or try different lines 5 on 5. Hard to shake up the lines with the offense we are getting from the other 3 lines, so I think we just need to be patient.
