Fair comment, he was drafted high and we all have high expectations. So was Lazar in Ottawa (17th ish I think?), fans were really attached to him and thought he could have been so much more, so maybe Bennett is to me as Lazar is (was?) to Sens fans. I hope I'm wrong. I hope Sens fan were right lol.

Why is everyone going so easy Tkachuk here after roasting Bennett. Tkachuk's penalty was a silly, selfish play and Bennett's was a ridiculous call.

Yeah that was close to interference. The Flames are not getting any breaks with the penalties tonight.
I hope I'm wrong but this is pretty much game over with how little offence the Flames are generating.

Because Tkachuk's play usually makes up for his penalties. And he also draws a lot of penalties. Can't say the same for Bennett.

If Bennett hasn't shown first line offense by this point then he doesn't have it to show. There still could be some upside with him on the wing but Bennett's ceiling is no longer a first line center as was projected on his draft day. We should revise expectations down at this point. If he turns into a 40 point center then... good? Too bad, at least we didn't take him over Draisaitl!
