I know right? I've always wondered why anyone would go through life as an employee. You have to pay 7% less tax than Murray Edwards and you get none of the benefits.

if he were spending the majority of his time here, he would be paying taxes here
it's a pretty straight-forward rule that you might want to familiarize yourself with before debating the issue for 20 posts

Where do State services end? Is maintaining infrastructure such as sewers, water services, access to clean water, maintain roadways, police and fire (not even calling for them but the protection they represent)....and so on.
Some of these are falling apart, is it going to be up to the citizens to pay to fix them while we continue to cut corporate tax because they threaten us with lay offs?
Thanks for hiring us though. But make sure to hold it over our heads as leverage so you can increase your profit.........

We can jack up the corporate tax rate to 45%! That'll show those evil corporations! Oh wait, no one will have jobs and no one will be able to pay for any infrastructure? Let's just borrow the money, someone else will pay for it.
Better yet, let's nationalize everything. The government will totally be able to run our economy the most efficient for all of us peons. Hooray!

Just for clarification...
to be able to be considered as a resident in the UK, Edwards has to spend at least 6 months plus a day there.
Also some are saying its trivial the amount of money he is saving by doing this and to me its an indication of how out of touch socialists are.....i heard two different estimates as to how much in REAL dollars this saves him. the lowest amount was over 30 MILLION a year.
Doesnt matter how much money you may have...that kind of savings matters a whole bunch.
His philanthropic work hopefully will not be affected by his absence but if it is, another reason why the NDP policy is so batcrap insane.

Yeah there's a strange sense of what these wealthy people pay. It's not millions over the course of a year or a lifetime. It's millions a month, 6 figures a day by the time I turn my computer on. I don't know about Edwards specifically, but guys like him pay for the services they and their dependents use in a lifetime in about three months of working tax.
If they made money selling our oil...we made our fair share in royalties. If they pay less tax because they earn money through a corporation, we've derived huge tax benefits from that corporation and it's income tax generation. All the personal corps and "contractors" bug me far more.

He is following through on his plan to make impoverished people middle class. Except instead of raising up the poor, his is kicking the middle class downward.

Ya, having a conscience sucks . It's just easier to have a " #### everyone else I come first " conservative attitude.
It is easy to be selfish but to actually think about others is taxing (no pun intended)and outside of our natural train of thought.
I'm not really suprised either by comments like this on the siteanymore. Where socilists are the devil and conservitive talking point one liners like this draw the majority of support.
I understand the area thus site draws the most support from and respect your views but throwing out beinfg a socially resposible person is being a terrible person is just filled with irony. If socialism was really such an evil ideology we would be the ones cutting funding to vital social programs that effect our healthcare, education, public services. We are infact asking the complete oppisite and asking for more compassion.
Socialist arejust so damn evil. You should always have a priest on hand to perform emergency exorsists.
