Yeah I can't imagine the restrictions being enforced all that strictly considering the matchup is far from "star studded"

Congrats Vasek!

7-5, 6-1 win over a higher-seeded player.

Good luck against Isner

Milos won but Levine and Pospisil lost in round 2. Vasek actually almost knocked off Isner, both of them soundly won one set and Isner edged him in a tiebreak in the first set.

Nice job versus Istomin, especially the first set. Off to the SFs!

Haas beats Isner to make the final.

2nd semifinal Raonic vs. Querrey at 5pm mountain.

Raonic absolutely crushed Querrey, Milos looked very very good that match. Just a complete dismantling, I am impressed.

Great win by Milos. Bad news for Tennis fans in Calgary. Vancouver Open tournament is rumouring on Facebook that UBC will host Davis Cup again in April with an announcement coming Tuesday. Sad news if true.

I agree. I think we need to get this city to build some more tennis specific facilities and maybe we will see more of these events come through. I really think we should apply for the outgoing SAP Open, not sure the rules behind this. Anybody know the parameters around the movement of outgoing tournaments? GirlySports, you seem to be a wealth of knowledge.

I dont think it's worth it. The San Jose Open is 250 level and it drew flies on the weekend. We're interested in the tournament because it's Milos but do we really want a tournament where the top seed is the 15th ranked player in the world? In Calgary the tournament might not even draw 4000. Vancouver, Granby and Rimouski have challenger events which at least feature a lot of Canadians.

In this same week Del Potro was winning in Rotterdam and Nadal was winning in Sao Paulo.

The San Jose tournament is not in play...the short story is: Memphis (a 500 event) was sold to Rio. San Jose, which is owned by the same people as owned Memphis, moved to Memphis.

The Memphis draw!

http://www.atpworldtour.com/posting/2013/402/mds.pdf

Milos and Haas could meet again, in the quarters.

Verdasco got scared and withdrew.

Unless the Canadian team can spend a few weeks isolated here in advance for training at high altitudes and gain that advantage, playing in Calgary probably isn't the best idea.

With Nestor and his partner out of gas in the final set of the 3rd match, can only imagine how much quicker they'd have been done if playing up in Calgary. Maybe they'll have the time to prepare here in isolation when it comes time for the Davis Cup Final.
