Stone will take a discount. Just a hunch. $3.75M probably.

Flames would be stuck with extremely expensive goalie tandem this year but only for one year.

Are they in cap trouble though? Doesn't seem like it with Grabovski gone now too.
I think Islanders are pushing to win now to entice Tavares to stay. I'm guessing Hamonic is gonna go to the Avs for Duchene.

They used the pick in Engelland because there wasn't a player they felt was worth picking including Kulak who's a player most teams have on their AHL roster that's a good AHL player but not good enough to play in the NHL.

You can't just "cut" someone loose. If Vegas tried to send him to the minors he would most likely be claimed and therefore they would have wasted the pick from Calgary.

I don't think we want to give up anything good on the roster, that gives us with picks and prospects.

It's not a troll. What can flames trade other than picks/prospects? Anyone of value on roster are "core pieces" that we all would rather keep.

Yes. But we have lots of valuable picks and prospects. So him saying we have nothing valuable to give is completely wrong

We have the 16th pick in a weak draft and we may think our prospects(we have 2-3 good prospects but other teams also have similar prospects that they are high on) are valuable but other teams might not see it that way.

Give it a rest. All you do here troll with wet-blanket posts.
You said we have no assets to trade, then got called on it and switched it up to saying we have no assets we want to trade, which you have no idea about.
You're so see-through it's not even funny.

Don't forget about 2018 picks. 2019 picks.
Are you suggesting Jankowski, Andersson, Kylington, Gillies, Parsons Fox, etc don't have league wide value? Because that's a very stupid thing to suggest IMO. Are you suggesting we only have 2-3 good or valuable prospects? Because that's 100% false.
Listen bud I've been watching the Flames for 20 years following the draft and our prospects closely. The value of the young players, prospects and picks that the Flames have now is higher than anytime in the last 20 years. We're asset rich right now. Not lacking assets.
We may not want to move a lot of the assets but suggesting we have little to nothing to trade is completely untrue

When did I say we have no assets to trade? From the start I said we have no valuable assets we want to trade(off of our roster we would not give someone that is part of the core and in the prospects department, Parsons would be the one teams are asking for).

Good call on Grabovski. Forgot they unloaded him. They have $5.54M in cap space with 21/33 man roster full after the Eberle trade according to cap friendly.

We do have valuable assets. Whether they can / should be moved is another issue and something you are flat out not privvy to.

They don't have value for teams looking to replace a top 6 forward or top 4 d-man with a top 6 forward or top 4 d-man.
The classic packaging of B-rate prospect + 2nd round pick + marginal NHLer for front-line player trade is just a fan fantasy.
When it comes to trades, the Flames' problem is they don't have enough depth to trade a veteran difference-maker, but the team is still rebuilding so it's not a smart idea to trade 1st round picks or top prospects.

2018 picks and 2019 picks would be second round picks because I don't think the team would trade the 2018 and 2019 first round picks because you never know how things are going to go.
Jankowski, Parsons and one of Andersson, Kylington would be the one that have true league interest because teams have their own prospects that they are high on and would probably want to give their own prospects the chance first.

You kinda proved the opposite point.. You just listed the only 5 prospects with any tangible trade value. Vegas just had a free pick of any of the older prospects
and they opted to sign a 35year old free agent instead.
Flames have some other decent prospects like fox Phillips mangiapane etc. But none are going to be the key cog in landing a James Neal, hamonic, etc calibre player.
And as far as picks go, as a playoff team they aren't super valuable lottery picks, and we really need to stop mortgaging the future by trading them away. We need to start drafting young guys and havig them actually pan out. I love the dougie trade but it sure would be nice to have a konecny or barzal waiting to make the jump. We are going to need that in the future.
