If we want to keep Coronato what about moving Honzek instead? Honzek and a 2nd for McTavish?

I don't think you trade for Bennett, I think you wait and see if he goes UFA and he's willing to sign here. If so, great. If not, fine.

I don't think the Flames should even consider signing him. They already have a Bennett at home in Kadri

I would do that as well but I doubt the Ducks would.

Probably just normal business but I was at the wranglers game last night and there seemed to be a lot more scouts than usual sitting around with their notebooks.

If Bennett does not sign with Florida, he will be the #1 free agent (or just behind Marner).

I agree with that, however, my thoughts are the cap savings and ability to add a major contract this year and next might be? I have no idea how to figure out accrued cap space, I just know 3.5 mil would be substantial by the trade deadline, even if it was only a week before. So you keep some of the grit/tenacity, get freedom to improve elsewhere.
I also don't think that Florida would trade Bennett, unless they were 100% certain they were not going to resign him, and if they decide internally not to keep him as a rental.

Which is funny because as soon as someone said trade for Bennett, my immediate thought was Kadri - FLA is in win now mode, and Kadri at $7M is cheaper than what Bennett is likely to sign for. He fits their mold perfectly.
Would actually be a pretty decent trade for both teams IMO.

It would certainly be interesting in that the league would have to freeze while the NHL investigates who hacked Florida's system and agreed to that trade
25 years old Pospisil who has 10 career goals and 10 pts this season for ... Bennett AND a first.
Conroy would immediately win executive of the millennium.
I also love the "ideally sooner then later" part of the trade. I fully agree we should make this trade sooner then later

Florida isn't going to downgrade their roster and give up a 1st to do so just to get cap space. Pospisil probably gets a 2nd or something if he is traded.

Do the 3-way trade with Andersson for McTavish.
Trade Kadri for Bennett
(add bits to either if necessary)
Flames' center depth:
Zary
McTavish
Bennett
Backlund

If McTavish is truly available 3/4 of the league will be on him. The price will be high. If I’m Anaheim I’m asking for parekh, a first and a throw in player . No Anderson will not waive to go to Anaheim.
Also posters need to give up on the Anderson to “crap team” proposals . It’s been noted many times he wants to win now. He’s no fool. He sees hanifin get traded to a winner and probably wants that.
As for Bennett , very little chance he thinks about signing back in Calgary. If he hits the market he’s gonna have far better teams to choose from.

Yeah, if there's a trade involving Pospisil, it would be more like Pospisil + @nd for Bennett
And they're only considering that if they think Bennett isn't signing, and there are no other offers on the table.
I think a Kadri trade is more realistic.

They might ask for that, but they sure as hell won't get that. If Parekh were on the table, it would be straight up, or a small add from CGY, but not a 1st +

They can ask but as soon as they say Parekh you hang up the phone let alone the rest. McTavish is a good young player but nowhere near that good.

If Anaheim wants that then they won’t be trading him. Andersson can only block 6 crappy teams but I assume Buffalo is out for sure. Anaheim might not be

I would not trade Parekh straight up for McTavish. You are trading a possibly generational D man for a player who is projected to be a 1B-2A C. No way.

I know we hope hes "generational" because we drafted him, but the league and scouts didn't see it that way 6 months ago at the draft
He was drafted 9th overall for a reason.
He could, but let's not pretend he was a 1st overall or 1st D selected.
McTavish was 3rd overall. He "could" be a generational center (technically)
I wouldn't trade straight up because I don't think losing 3 years of control of a player at this point of our rebuild makes any sense , but it's not an unfair trade

This probably isn't enough but Verbeek likes his gritty and mean assets, so I think they would like some of these pieces but not enough value maybe.
Pospisil + Kuznetsov/Grushnikov (Verbeek likes his big physical dmen) + 1st Round Pick (NJD) + 2nd Round Pick (COL)

If he wants quantity over quality then it’s okay. My guess is it will be something like the Drysdale swap
