What is the term that walks him right to UFA if they match? Because, that, please.

You guys think Holloway is going to sign an offer sheet? Even signing a cheap deal in Edmonton is his best shot right now I would think.

He wants out of that tire fire badly.

Home town team is a big draw. He likely grew up a flames fan. He would be playing a bigger role for the flames. All players want that.

A lot of players sign offer sheets. I wouldn't feel too great about my team if they maxed out the cap without considering me, as the Oilers have done with Holloway. Clearly he's an afterthought to them.

Replace Desharnais with Anthony Deangelo in what I posted.

One team is in full rebuild, one team two periods from a Stanley Cup. Would bet a lot that he stays.

The Flames and Oilers won the same amount of cups this season.

I love it how Oiler media and fans think the Oilers will cruise to the cup next season.
Stuffer saying 53-55 wins and an easy road to the finals and winning it. But Gretzky lost his 1st time. Gretzky played in a league with like 4 good teams.
The Oilers have never had to deal with any significant injuries. Think about how many seasons got derailed for the Penguins because of the injuries to Crosby.

What happens if Skinner goes down? If McDavid or Draisaitl go down?
That team is a complete joke.

And literally everything fell the Oilers way this past season. They got the worst western conference playoff team in the first round because the Knights lost to the Ducks on the last night of the regular season. Then they lucked out in round 2 because they didn't have to face Thatcher Demko for the entire series and Brock Boeser missed the all important 7th game. Then they were about to go down 3-1 to Dallas when, inexplicably, Dallas just decided to quit playing. So, a hell of a lot went right for the Oilers to get to where they did. I don't think the stars will align and have everything go right for them again. Oiler fans conveniently seem to forget how much went right for them in that playoff run.

So they added Arvidsson and Skinner, kept Henrique, Janmark, Perry, Stecher, lost Foegele. Holloway and Broberg still need deals.
They likely improved their forwards but their D is much the same?

Not offer sheeting Holloway and Broberg at 4.5 mil each would be a fireable offense

Can't fire 31 GMs for that.
Anyway, I can't see either of those players being worth that kind of money. If it were me, I wouldn't pay 4.5m for the two of them put together.

Can the oilers buyout Kane? Would that give them enough cap relief for both Holloway and Broberg?
Could they get enough cap relief if they trade Kane + picks? Is that the solution?
Would be really annoyed if they get away with LTIR-retiring Kane.

Kane is definitely starting the season on LTIR. How long he will stay on it is the question.
