I'm pro-gay and work in the immigration field and I had conservative signs on my lawn.
Oh yeah, I have 2 degrees and my household income is well into the 6 figures.
and boy am I going to lay it on thick to anyone who describes a conservative supporter of a racist, ignorant, hick.

Which is pretty much the difference between the last minority government and today's majority government....

As much as this was an incredible result for the Liberals, it has to be looked at as am amazing result for the boooga booga scary secret agenda Conservatives.
|
BUT THEY HAVE A SECRET AGENDA /Ignatief
If Ignatief had ran his campaign based on his speech tonight the Liberals wouldn't be in this situation. Instead he ran it based on the evil/corporate/secret Conservative agenda to take down the country and make themselves rich. Nobody bought that.

Ignatieff might be personally, but many party planks tried to push social spending, etc. It was bad strategy, and the result was what it was.
Personally, I think this will ultimately become a great thing for the Liberals. They needed to be truly humbled. They need to refocus themselves. And the best news for them is that they have four years now to rebuild from the ground up rather than worry about another election in 18 months. They have time to recover.

Wait until the "fiscal conservative" Cons ruin the economy and the Liberals have to move in and fix it. What is this 1992 USA?, 1993 Canada? or 2008 USA?

Its more the vote splits between Lib/NDP then anything amazing done by the CPC there. They gained about 5%....which is not huge, but with the splits thats all they needed.
Its the exact reason the PC and Reform party merged...they split the vote and the Liberals would claim the seats.

I've been saying since I was a kid that the Bloc shouldn't be allowed to exist... and now, for all intents and purposes, they don't.
