I've been on the roads all week and the only plow/grader/sander I've encountered since this weather blew in was on Crowchild. Many major roads are absolutely treacherous in the suburbs and core.
Even with the historically poor level of snow/ice care in the city, this is just a joke. Traffic could be moving far quicker and safer with even a modest amount of attention.

Agreed. There's one on 12th Ave approaching Macleod that is making the already painfully slow cold snap commute even slower, zero need for it in these temps.

Weird, I was just thinking yesterday how many non-major routes had been plowed around me. Mixed up priorities...

Traffic seemed bizarrely lovely yesterday and today AM. Companies must be allowing more work from home this week than normal.

I actually found it surprisingly busy yesterday morning commuting through the core, wasn't expecting that, but today was much better. Hoping it stays that way tomorrow.

I saw plows out downtown yesterday afternoon, but haven't seen any today. Looks like the map corroborates that: hasn't been much of any plowing downtown in the last couple hours.
I tend to agree about the road conditions though; I drove home on Crowchild last night and it was slippery...

I live on 12th Ave SW and I hear them go by regularly. Bus routes get priority.

The one that was plowing in the beltline earlier this morning was "Bob".
Other fun ones include Marda Scoop, My Fair Bladey, Darth Blader, Oh Snow You Didn't, Fast & The Flurrious and—my favourite, I think— Brinestone Plowboy.
EDIT: Muta beat me to it.

There are a few unnamed ones - I think we need to make it a priority to get this one enshrined! Hahahaha

"Snow-covered" in Blackfoot. Likewise si’kssopo means "chinook".
