I believe in the Jays.

I'm perfectly fine with Huska becoming HC. The D and PK seemed to operate very well in the NHL and I thought he was a very good coach with Kelowna (can't speak to the AHL... never saw them play when he was HC there). I imagine Love will likely take his AC spot if not now then soon barring HC hire outside the org.

Love probably looks elsewhere for an NHL job if the previous rumors about heavy league interest are true, and if Valji's reporting is accurate there. Shame, he seems like a guy on a good trajectory.

Salim reporting it’s likely Love will join a different organization as an assistant despite having one more year on his deal.
I don’t mind the Huska hiring at all and have been defending it the past couple days, but I do not like losing Love. I thought for sure he would be an assistant.

Yeah I'm fine with Huska, I don't know enough about that room to sit here and say whether I think he'll be good or not. But either way, losing Love would really suck

I think he knows that he needs to strike now for an NHL spot, because going back to the AHL without Dustin Wolf on the team, as well as other top prospects graduating, isn't going to help his cause.

Thing is, the initial info didn't say Love wouldn't be an AC - just that he wasn't part of the HC announcement. Maybe that means Love is gone. But maybe it just means Huska wants to hire his own guys which may or may not include Love.

I wonder if Treliving is going to snag Love away from the Flames?

Wondering if the Flames don't think as highly of Love as I thought. Maybe thinking he has been propped up by Wolf.
Still would have been my preference, but would be interesting to know.

Now that things have settled with Huska, I expect he and the organization begin their evaluation to round out the staff. Love should explore all his options, but that doesn't mean that when the dust settles he doesn't end up a part of the team in an Associate/Assistant role.
If he does step into the NHL scene as anything other than a Head Coach on a different franchise I will be disappointed and question why that couldn't have happened in Calgary.
Huska - Head Coach
Tanguay - Associate
Love - Assistant
Fingers crossed.

I just don't think he has enough experience and the sample size is so small with him. AHL coach of the year doesn't correlate to NHL success even if you do it twice.

I wasn't keen on having Huska but I think this is the right move. Huska has been a part of the organization for a long time and got to see what works and what doesn't. Huska also already knows what type of style Connie wants them to play so it's up to Huska to adjust. They have a good relationship and will work together, and if it means to make adjustments, they will.
As per Love, I feel bad for him because of his AHL success but I think if the whole coaching staff was fired as is in normal situations, Love would have gotten it 100%. In this situation is was isolated to one individual to be removed and if Love was to get hired, you then risk losing all the assistants and would have to do a full revamp of the coaching.

So many coaches...how do you choose? We're drowning in coaching options!
