Not sure why CP has a hate on for glen cross but hope he goes far into the playoffs this year until he returns home to Alberta

If you feel Calgary lost this trade, you have to also feel like Calgary could have gotten more at a later date for Glencross. Is this how you feel? If so what were your expectations?

So you predict he will be an Oiler? Cause he sure as hell is not getting his pay day here.

As an outsider I believe the Flames did very well in what they got as compensation for Glencross. In receiving a 2nd & 3rd, IMO Calgary got excellent value back from the Cap's.

This is a very solid return for Glencross..I was hoping for a 2nd, and expecting a 3rd...that they got both is a bonus. Good job by team Treliving.

Think Calgary lost cause they couldn't figure out a number to sign him.
He will be back in Alberta cause his family is here.

They had a number they were comfortable with, Glenncross had a number he was comfortable with. They weren't the same and the Flames thought it was best to move on. Good return given that.
I hope Glenncross finds that feisty pain in the butt game again, could be a very useful tool for the Caps.
For the Flames it's great, two more bullets to get possible players with in the draft. 5 picks in the top 90, and from what I've seen/read the draft is deep in good quality players, especially the blueline.

Glad he was traded to the eastern conference. I can still cheer for him and hope he has a few nice moments!

I'm openly a pretty big Glencross supporter (who also wanted to trade him for a defenseman rather than picks), but there's no way we lost this trade.

I have nothing really to add other than in honour of Treileving making the trade, waiver pickup, and to drown sorrows over Gio, it's Boston Pizza Coconut Thai Chicken for dinner.
(Really, I just want an excuse to order yummy pizza.)

Maybe he meant a solid pizza joint that he's ordering from in the Boston area.

Haha I want to cheer for him to win a cup.
BUT more importantly I want the Capitals to finish as low as possible this year so the draft picks will be higher...

And .... all the Flames are leaving the ice only a few minutes into practice.

When I initially saw this tweeted I thought, "oh no... Lowe finally found a team willing to trade rosters with him"

Calgary got fair return. I would have been more pleased if we got a roster defenceman instead of the picks, but this is Brad's team & Brad's vision.
The picks are fair value.

LoL - you must have continually had your expectations tempered with regards to Iginla, even after his 50 goal seasons, due to his hands on the penalty shot.
Good for Glencross - gets to go to one of the better teams in the NHL, and seems like a team that he really fits with Trotz demanding this year solid 2-way play. I think he will get as big of a chance to shine there as anywhere else, and parlay that into a decent contract in the off-season.
A 2nd and a 3rd? I will take that. I was expecting a 2nd and a B prospect, and this is (imo) just as good. Thought Glencross could get a little bit more, thought he may get a little less, but I think this was fair. More than fair given his NTC.
Also, thank you Glencross for opening up your NTC and providing additional teams on your list. Could have easily been just a third if Glencross played hardball and only named one team. It was his right to do so, he took a discount to get that right, and he earned that right with his pretty good play through the years. Good on him! Wish him an awesome finish to the season and into the playoffs. I was cheering for the Islanders this season to go far in the playoffs, but I may just be cheering for Washington now

Had an idea!

Good return in a very deep draft. Would have probably gotten nothing if they hadn't traded him.

There's a chance those picks can turn into a good roster D-man before 10 a.m tomorrow

Sounds like we were only getting offers for a third for Cammy last year. If we did trade Cammy last year, not sure if we will get the 3rd with Glencross this year - granted every trade deadline is different. Just happy we got 2 picks for Glencross.
