My two favorite Glencross moments were a couple of hat tricks. The first against Carolina the day after someone started this thread. And of course, last year in the 8-1 thrashing of the Coilers.

Best of luck, Curtis. It was a nice run.
For the sake of posterity:
Out of thanks, but this is among my (many) favourite CP photoshops.
I'm a little disappointed honestly. I think the return is good, but Washington? I was hoping Glencross would be on his way to a contender, if he wanted to be first round fodder he could have stayed with the Flames despite the fact that I know his salary demands werent going to be met here.
I guess we all just move on. I hope he gets his money and his cup next season and wish him the best.

Glenny is a good lad and hope for the best for him. I've never been the biggest fan of his game (or maybe what he thought he was versus what he actually is).
I do think he could excel with Barry Trotz as his coach if he buys in to what Trotz sells.
Now hopefully BT learned his lesson and we won't see another Bollig for a 3rd type trade. Personally, I hope we use those picks to either draft players (duh) or as ammunition to move up. I would be okay with a deal for a player like Connolly as well.
So very interesting to read through this thread after knowing the trade happened. Funny to see how people have to react with no or incomplete information. Looking at this after the fact some people's reactions read like they're just crazy

1/3 vote thinks Calgary won... Crazy. I think Calgary lost. Time will tell if picks turn out to be nothing.
Not sure why CP has a hate on for glen cross but hope he goes far into the playoffs this year until he returns home to Alberta
How did we lose, though? According to all predictions, we probably did better than expected.
Our hands were also tied with Glencross only wanting to go to a handful of teams. He politely asked to be moved. You can't keep him on the team, especially when the window to get assets for him was quickly closing.
Given the circumstances, I'm not sure how we could have come out of this transaction any better.

How did we lose? We traded a guy who was about to leave for nothing for 2nd and 3rd rounders in a deep draft. Those are very valuable. They can be used as picks or traded for legit NHLers or prospects at the draft.
How did we lose?
