Anyone else have a week 17 championship game? I won mine today thanks to Matt Forte, LeArjet Blount, and the Seattle defence. Strange league, had a 14 game reg season. In another league they do 2 week playoff matchup after 11 game reg season. Played in 3 money leagues this year finishing 1,3,5 in them. Got beat out by eventual champ in the two I didn't win. Still made more in fantasy than I would have gambling.

How did everyones first week go?

I won in my regular league and lost in my keeper league.

After some waiver pick ups, here are what my two teams are looking like for week 2.

My regular league for week 2

QB - Tom Brady
RB - LeSean McCoy
RB - Le'Veon Bell
WR - Julian Edelman
WR - Alshon Jeffery (if healthy) or Brandin Cooks
TE - Delanie Walker
Flex - Rashad Jennings
K - Mason Crosby
D - Broncos D

Bench

RB - Chris Ivory, Bishop Sankey
WR - Donnie Avery, Alex Hurns + either Alshon Jeffery or Brandin Cooks
TE - Heath Miller

My keeper for week 2

QB - Aaron Roders
RB - Le'Veon Bell
RB - DeMarco Murray
WR - Emmanual Sanders
WR - DeAndre Hopkins
TE - Zach Ertz
Flex - Eddie Lacy (if healthy) or Knowshon Moreno
K - Steven Haushka
D - Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Bench

WR - Wes Welker (Suspended) Eric Decker, Larry Fitzergald, Allen Hurns
RB - Eddie Lacy or Knowshon Moreno, Reggie Bush

The big question for me this week is should I slot in Larry Fitzgerald over Hopkins (or slot one of my other receivers in over Hopkins?) Fitzgerald was really hit or miss for me last year and he didn't have a good first week.

Looks like I am go to start Cooks over Jeffery, cant risk sitting Cooks and waiting on Jeffery for the night game.

We started our pool late this year. I've never done fantasy football before, and am a filthy casual NFL fan at best. I have no idea outside of a few guys who to start every week. Any thoughts?

QB - Kaepernick (SF), Wilson (SEA)
WR - Thomas (DEN), Edelman (NE), Colston (NO), Macklin (PHI)
RB - Lynch (SEA), Morris (WAS), Gore (SF), Spiller (BUF), Jackson (ATL)
TE - Gronkowski (NE), Clay (MIA)
K - Vinatieri (JAX)
DEF - Bengals

Our league is standard scoring, 3 WR, 2 RB.

^ Both your QBs are not "fantasy" QBs, look at the waiver wire and see whats available, a guy like Rivers might still be around...

Thomas, Edelman, Maclin should be starters. You need a better WR3 tho.

You've got lots of RBc, try to trade a RB for a WR. Lynch and Morris should start with Spiller being the next option. Trade Gore.

Gronk starts at TE.

K and DEF depends on matchup. I usually try to pickup whoever is playing the Jags that week if I can.

Well my team looks to be the team that gets destroyed by injuries this year. Had RGIII, Ryan Mathews, and AJ Green all go down this week. I might eke out a win tonight if Reggie Wayne and Cody Parkey have big games.

I only need 75 points from TY Hilton tonight. Pretty sure I have it in the bag. And by bag I mean...

Thanks for the tips! The waiver wire is pretty slim for QBs. Would Cousins be better than either of my guys with RG3 out?

He wouldn't be a bad matchup against Eagles secondary next week but I'm not sure of him being a QB1 just yet. What are some of your other options?

Other options on waivers are Dalton, Locker, Tannehill, and I got an offer to swap Wilson and Morris for Andrew Luck. Is Spiller a good enough 2nd back to jump all over that?

I'd grab Dalton.

Agreed. In my main trophy league with buddies I have Dalton starting, he's given me 38 points in first 2 weeks.

I would pass on that trade offer, Morris with RG III out now will be used even more.

Dalton, Lynch, Morris, Thomas, Edelman, Maclin is a decent lineup.

had just a brutal week this week, but still likely going to sneak out a win based on the matchup.

Had Cutler and Marshall combo last night put up more than half of my teams' total points. I have Maclin left and 40 points lead on Hilton, Bradshaw and Ertz.

Other league should be fun, my Luck +2 points vs Foles

I put up 93.54 points in my keeper, still have Ertz playing tonight, but my opponent put up 120.08, so unless something miraculous happens im going to fall to 0-2 in my keeper.

I put up 85.56 points in my regular league, still have McCoy tonight, my opponent put up 51.74 and has Reggie Wayne tonight, so unless something crazy happens ill at least be 2-0 in my regular league.

One league I got nothing from Brady and Charles, but Cobb and Walker stepped it up. In my other league I hold a 1 point lead right now. I have Luck and he has Foles.

However I picked Eagles to win in my ATS pool, so hopefully it's through mostly FG and not TD's.

There's a guy in my league (PPR) with this lineup:

QB - Peyton Manning and Jay Cutler
RB - Rashad Jennings, Chris Johnson, Lamar Millar, Roy Helu Jr, Lance Dunbar
WR - Michael Floyd, Emmanuel Sanders, Victor Cruz, and Kelvin Benjamin

We play a two RB, two WR, one flex and his backs and receivers are just terrible. I offered him Kendall Wright, who was a PPR machine last year, and Justin Forsett for Cutler and he's still debating it.

Did he draft Manning and Cutler round 1 and 2? Otherwise how do you end up with no top WR or RB on any team.

Did I mention he's an idiot? He had last pick in the first round/first pick in the second round deal. He picked Rashad Jennings with his first pick and Manning with his second.

Pretty idiotic. Manning a good pick, Jennings went 58th in my league. Can imagine the likes of players he passed on...oh well...

Some players to pickup for injury replacements:
-Donald Brown (RB - SD) - Ryan Matthews backup
-Larry Donnell (TE - NYG) - Becoming Eli's 2nd fav target (#1 being oppositions secondary)
-Brian Quick (WR - Stl) - Pretty much the only pass option in St.Louis
-James Jones (WR - Oak) - Looking past the 2 fumbles on one play, he's playing well
-Knile Davis (RB - KC) - Charles will be out for a bit and Davis filled in really well
-Terence West (RB - Cle) - Tate still out and looks like West is running with the opportunity
-Josh Gordon (WR - Cle) - If he's out there grab him now, likely good to go for week 11

playing for the first time this year. I'm playing in a league with a few of my friends, we've all been interested in the NFL for a few years now but no one has played before. Won my first two games with this lineup:

QB: Payton Manning, Cam Newton
RB: Le'veon Bell, Matt Forte, C.J. Spiller, Ben Tate
WR: Jordy Nelson, Andre Johnson, A.J. Green, Michael Crabtree
TE: Julius Thomas, Antonio Gates
D/ST: Chiefs, Seahawks
K: Nick Novak, Dan Bailey

first week was clear win against a weak opponent ... second week was pretty ugly, but still managed a win thanks to Jordy Nelson.
