Didn't someone else on CP once find an injured bird too and named it something-buzz?

Stunned birds should be put in a dark, quiet box (check after an hour). They will either survive or die. If you are in Calgary there is the Wildlife Rehab place in the NW http://calgarywildlife.org/cwrs/inde...ife-What-To-Do
(I worked for 12 years in a wildlife hospital back in England)

Our front window is a bird magnet, chick opens up the blinds not 5 minutes later a bird flys head on into it, I couldn't help but laugh because the feathers were stuck to the window. Go outside, not only is there this one bird still moving on the ground, theres 2 other dead ones beside it.
So we grabbed the bird(against my objections) and take it out to the back deck and much to my entertainment the bird bites(beaks???) the chick so she gets all pissed off and just leaves it on the table, I went back out a couple hours later and it was gone, so either happy ending or another animal had a easy meal. win/win no?

That is the best option. I have also done volunteer work at a Wildlife Rehab facility and I can tell you it is extremely hard to get an adult wild bird to eat in captivity and usually within 48 hrs they are dead.

I know what you're saying, but using the words 'bird' and 'chick' back to back makes it sound really weird. If we use British slang it almost sounded like another woman flew head first into the window.

We have rescued birds in the past. I phoned the Zoo and this is what they told me.
Put the bird in an appropriate sized box, line it with towels, cover it, and put it beside your furnace or some other appliance that will make a small hum.
Leave it there for the day. At dusk, take the bird in the box outside, open it and leave it. If the bird was able to recover, it will fly away.

You can buy translucent stickers to go on your windows - I bought mine from the Wild Bird Food store near MacLeod and Heritage.
