I'm so glad I don't have to work this hard to get laid.

hahhahaha this thread rocks...so much hate on CP...what ever happened to the "if you don't have something nice (or in this case relevant to the question posed by the OP) don't say anything at all"
I worked valentines day, dayshift and nightshift, yeah it was super not cool but got double time for family day, boo yah

As with any other thread on CP- if you do not want to discuss the subject then just close out of the thread. A few people want to discuss Valentine's Day- if you do not then find another thread that interests you.

Had an awesome first blind date. I took her for a ride in my van
"It rubs the lotion on its skin or else it gets the hose again"
Then I tried on my wardrobe

Had the fiances family over for a family dinner so it was great! Watched the Olympics and played cards and drank. Only had to spend about 20 bucks on flowers for her and she made a great feast for the family.

In fairness to the haters, the title of the thread made me think there would be some sort of funny story or angry rant about Valentine's Day. I don't see "Aftermath" and think it will be a few sentences about an uneventful evening that ended in the OP getting laid by his finace.
But since I'm supposed to be replying about the topic, I cooked a nice fancy dinner for the wife that she seemed to appreciate a lot more than previous years when we got gouged on mediocre prix fixe meals at restaurants.

I took my girl to Humpty's at 8PM, we had eggs benedict and made fun of each other. Best Valentines ever.
She's a keeper.

CIBC fraud called me about "unusual" charges on my credit card in Las Vegas. It all checked out.

I'm a single guy spent the day watching the Olympics. Some day I wish I had that special someone and some days not.

How is getting laid with the fiancee even getting laid? Getting laid is going on the prowl downtown with your lasso and a bottle of scotch.

I'm not suggesting going overboard with the spending, but even one or two simple things like a post it note cut out in a heart with a love message makes the day that much brighter for her
try it next year, or even this weekend. You'll be surprised what going out of your way for a couple minutes could do
|
thanks for the advice, sir. This weekend, I will present my girlfriend, Megan Fox, with a post it note. I am sure she will appreciate it.
Oh, wait, this weekend will be yet another miserable slog while I deal with my social incompetence and will have only one bright spot, coming on Sunday and having to do with hockey.
But thanks for reminding me.

Nothing like getting 'Trust me' advice from an internet message board.

I did the minimum. Just to avoid any fights or anything of that nature.
Although I like the OP's fiancee's idea... Maybe next year I'll just sex my way out of Valentines

I personally think Valentine's Day is a crock.
For those of us with significant others, let's be extra nice to them for one day just because the commercials and stores tell us to. People should go out of their way for their better halves every day, not just February 14th.
