I always have my coffee at the Purple Perk in Mission. Good coffee, food, atmosphere ... and they have some cute girls working there too.

Actually you want freshly roasted coffee to breathe for a couple of days before you use it. If it's stored properly it will take a couple of weeks to go stale.

I've got three go-to coffee's.
At home I roll with Kicking Horse Kick Ass, otherwise it's an extra large Timmy's double double or the swill you get at the rink/gas station.

The tastes are so divergent that they really shouldn't be called coffee. Its like a good beer vs malt liquor.

Phil and Sebastians, yes! Probably the best coffee in the city.

I just got back from the Tim Horton's lineup, and was accidentally given the person next in lines coffee. Of course I didn't realize until the first sip, and the big "T" on the lid. I just about gagged.
How does anyone drink coffee with more then one cream? Its just gross.

All the people I know that drink double-doubles are very obese.

Some Huskys sell Kicking Horse. Makes it almost worth going there.

I love the coffee at Caffe Artigiano and Phil & Sebastian's, as Fotze mentioned.
At home, I use a french press every day. The beans I have at the moment are a Second Cup medium roast. Not great, but I always change it up.

Really? If it wasn't for the fact that I get (virtually) free gas at UFA (pop's has a card there, so I get to put purple in my little car...but don't tell the fuzz!) I'd actually make a point of stopping there on my travels. I love that Kicking Horse, but I love free gas even more haha.

My daily starter is Starbucks Verona on my Tassimo + 1 cream, if I'm out and didn't do groceries yet, my emergency stash is Nabob Breakfast Blend on Tassimo + 2 creams.
If I'm out and about I'll stop by Second Cup or Co-op and get a cup of regular medium roast, black.
If I left the house without breakfast I go for the $1.39 muffin + coffee deal at McD's, 2 creams.
If I'm eating out, I do enjoy a bailey's coffee after dinner, wherever that may be.

I find that coffee made with reverse osmosis water is much better so using good water for coffee is the first key.
I currently have Starbucks french roast beans that I grind up. Works for me. Ever since I had Cafe Artigiano....Tim's tastes like the greasy sludge they brew at the auto wreckers.

49th Parallel here in Van is my favorite. Cafe Artigiano's 2nd, and JJ bean 3rd.
Not sure if those are all available in Calgary.
At home, I usually drink crappy coffee, but should really stop that.

Right now I am finishing up the fratello espresso beans i got for x-mas. When that is done I have a 2 lbs bag of the espresso beans from mr. cappuccino that came with the grinder i got for x-mas.
While the water that you use is important, if you are using a home espresso machine, it is just as important to have a good grinder. If the beans that you use are not a consistent grind you are wasting your time with a home espresso machine. The volatile oils in the beans don’t last too long after they are ground.
Right now I am away from home with work so i am drinking gas station coffee, which is pretty much the same as timmys. Man, I am missing Miss Silvia and Rocky.
