This is definitely one of our favorite restaurants as well last I've heard is that Quarry has been sold. I'm not sure if it has been replaced with anything new yet.

Edit: the new owners are continuing operations under the same name. Huzzah! http://www.quarrybistro.com/

My husband and I ate at Sage Bistro just over a year ago and quite enjoyed it. So I'd give that one a thumbs up.

DO NOT go there.

The food and its plating is a joke, its decor is ugly and looks slapped together with whatever furnature they could find, its menu looks horrible as though some kid with MS paint made it up. I'd understand if they were just starting out and had low prices but they make you pay your typical sushi price

The only plus side is that the japanese waitresses wear cute kimonos

It is a below average sushi restaurant who took advantage of the fact that there is no other sushi restaurant in Canmore

I definately recommend Murrietta's and Tapas.
If you must eat sushi in Canmore, go to Marra's way

For casual my new fav is The Iron Goat. In the summer the deck can't be beat. The public golf course is also good for deck action. Flatbread pizza co is also good if the number of kids is low.

For real sit down "upscale"-ish meal with wine Crazyweed does it.

We sometimes go there for breakfast or lunch on special occasions.

Went to crazyweed.

Definitely would recommend it.

I added some special requests in my reservations which they did without hesitation and even provided some complimentary champagne.

Food was awesome (recommend the cabbage rolls, new item to the menu that was just perfect).

Two thumbs up.
