As a kid I was a big wrestling fan, Absolutely loved Bret Hart and the Hart Foundation. Since then I've grown out of wresting but my buddy scored 4 free tickets to the last event that was in town (RAW). So we decided to check it out, it was brutal but during the show they kept toying with the fans by playing Bret's entrance music just to have Chris Jericho come out instead. Even though they did this a few times you wouldn't believe the goosebumps I got each time in anticipation of possibly seeing the Hitman burst down to isle towards the ring once again.

So many childhood memories of the Hitman:

- First Intercontinental Belt at Summer Slam '91
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bllqp6-CQ4g

- His 1994 Royal Rumble co-victory with Lex Luger:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c-Vg9bzbses

I remember getting his autograph at some BurgerKing he opened. At that point I think that was the greatest moment of my life. I think he was my biggest hero.

"The Excellence of Execution".

I'd be surprised... very surprised if the guy could get in the ring anymore... let alone wrestle... He is one hurtin' unit! ...But perhaps he could dance around for 5 minutes or so... we shall see

Well, it's remarkable that he's still able to function as a normal human being given all the concussions and the stroke he had... I think a match at his age is pretty much out of the question.

If I were a betting man I would wager he'll be a guest host on RAW and end up doing a "Montreal Screwjob" work on D-X for the Hart Dynasty either for the titles or for a title shot at WM. The WWE is nothing if not predictable these days.

Bret is signed for just a bit past WrestleMania. Shawn Michaels is taking a hiatus after WrestleMania. Nice how that works out.

Actually he signed start on the first Monday in Jan to start with the Raw that goes up against the Hogan (rumored) Flair heavy TNA wrestling who are running a Monday night head to head show.

His contract expires the week after Wrestlemania so there could be interaction with Michaels and HHH, but I don't see it because of comments at Hart's hall of fame induction where he stated that he would leave if Michael's showed up for his induction.

I think this is more then likely going to be a Bret versus MacMahon angle while elevating the new Hart Dynasty.

However the fact that DX holds the tag belts is interesting.

I just don't know how they're going to pull this off, I mean Bret can play the face in a feud with Vince, however DX are the top faces in the company and any interaction between Hart and DX will get him boo'd out of the building.

It is more appropriate here because it is entertainment. Not a sport.

I was a HUGE Hulk Hogan fan as a kid. Andre the Giant and Hulk Hogan were my favorites, oh and the Ultimate Warrior.

I can't believe the Hitman and Hogan are getting back in the ring. It is a good thing it is not a sport and only entertainment!! They might hurt themselves... break a hip or something.

McMahon was also on "Off the Record" in July that year, basiclly trashing Bret. His lawyers advised him not to respond because of the lawsuit. They finally patched things up a few years ago, but the Screwjob was as real as it gets. It's happened before, and it will probably happen again.

You are correct that the "Screwjob" did happen before back in the 80's. Wendi Richter the WWF woman's champion was having contract issues and the WWF and was "screwed" in a similar fashion in a bout with the masked "Spider Lady" who turned out to be the Fabulous Moolah. You can find this on You Tube.

As for McMahon's quotes, thats my point, its just a wrestling promo. If you watch Wrestling With Shadows does it not make you suspicious that in the locker room before the event McMahon and Bret were talking about the finish to the match and Bret just happened to be wearing a supposed "hidden microphone" .

Kevin Nash was on the LAW wrestling radio show a few years ago and said he thought it was a work.

If Bret hated Shawn Michaels so much why did he even agree to wrestle Michaels?

I think Bret, McMahon, and Michaels are all friends and came up with this storyline which they've been benefitting from for over a decade. I applaud them.

As much as I wish it was the ultimate work, it points out to so many things that make it look like a legit screwjob

1) Bret Hart was originally slated to start with WCW within a couple of weeks of leaving WCW, he couldn't wrestle due to a busted hand so instead he did the lame recreation of the screwjob using Sting and Hogan.

2) Read Mick Foley's book where he talks about the number of wrestlers that boycotted Raw the night after, also the anger by the Undertaker after the screwjob happened. Vince is a lot of things but he's not going to piss off two of his big bread makers to the point of threatening to quit.

3) Hart wore the microphone for Wrestling with Shadows because he no longer trusted MacMahon, especially after the meeting with Hart, MacMahon and Michaels a few months earlier, where Michaels bluntly told them that he was not longer going to job to anyone.

4) Look up the Sunny Days incident between Hart and Michael's shortly before Michael's quit and went home due to the in locker room fight between the two.

5) Bret Hart taking part in the law suit over Owen Hart that destroyed the Hart family, the sad destruction of that family over a wrestling angle would be taking an angle too far.

6) The fact that Hart went over to WCW just because the politics in the WCW rendered Hart worthless doesn't mean that he didn't want to destroy Vince.

You make a lot of valid points.

I'm just a wrestling fan from the 80's and 90's and not an insider.

I do recall the "Sunny Days" incident but I can't blame Bret for "hittn' dat"

As for the Undertaker being pissed, McMahon has a history of doing things to employes that piss them off like last year when he moved Jim Ross to Smackdown without telling him.

Either way, I'm happy to see Bret back and I'll be watching RAW again.

I hope this wasn't motivated by Bret watching the Wrestler, and deciding that that's the way he wants to go out...

I say this because I truly believe that the whole "Screwjob in Montreal" at the 1997 Survivor Series was scripted.

Bret Hart and Vince McMahnon are both sons of wrestling promoters with lots in common including huge egos. Pulling off the screwjob jumpstarted the WWF's Attitude Era and Bret got a huge payday from WCW.

I don't think you are right about the screw job being scripted. my good friend dated one of bret's daughters a while ago, and when he was over at bret's house they talked. basically my friend pretty much said bret and his family hate vince. i am sure it wasn't scripted.

The one neat or sad thing in Bret Hart's book (which is an awesome read by the way) is that one of the first people to call Bret after he had his stroke was Vince, and it did open the way to a reconciliation that lead to the release of his DVD and his induction into the hall of fame.

While I think that the relationship which was described as father and son by Bret will never be the same, it sounds like they're on pretty good terms now.

His description of HBK and HHH as cancers on the face of wrestling will probably be a point of contention in any story line.

And damnn Sunny was hot in her day.

nice. I was hoping Bret would have hosted the event that came to Calgary a couple months ago. Sgt. Slaughter is such an idiot.

I'd still hit it to satisfy the 15 year old boy that resides somewhere in deep down inside of me.

Btw, what ever happened to Sable?
