I stayed at my parent's house in McKenzie last night. By the time I was about to take the Deerfoot Northbound exit from McKenzie Lake Blvd and saw the grid locked up as far as the eye could see (even south towards Okotoks) I decided EFF THIS(!) and decided to continue into McKenzie Towne, take the traffic circle, and go back to my parent's house.

It took 45 minutes to do that.

Oh, and I'm going to gamble big and call 300+ accidents reported.

Thumbs up Let it snow!

Id like to thank the Snow Gods for this weather and keeping bodyshops in business. My guess is about 285 and weve already had 2 tow-ins since 7:30 am.

Yep I did the same thing. I'm going to try and get winter tires on today. With as nuts as it will be I'm thinking I'll need all kinds of luck.

Lol. Now that you mention it...

Actually, I can't help but shake my head when I see people parked in the most ridiculous spots. Last year I saw a car that had clearly been hit and run and I happened to be driving by at the moment that the owner was just discovering it. I couldn't help but think that he was partially to blame for parking in such an obviously dangerous spot.

Remember, people - just because you can park there, doesn't mean you should.

This will be something we can all laugh at when we're golfing on Saturday.

The last time I thought the average Calgarian was a decent driver, I was six.

I have to drive into Calgary from High River today to see my specialist whose office is up by Canada Olympic park. Should be an interesting drive.

^ No, I moved to Germany for a while and man, what a difference. I remember being 12 years old and my Dad teaching me how to drive stick in a 4-speed Ford Fiesta. Man that car was awesome.

Granted, if your not at fault, because of lack of traction. Just grinding your gears, I'm sure you'll be fine.

Dare I say that I actually had fun, driving the GF to work this morning, watching other drivers fumble with the roads.

Kind of a dumb question - would getting winter specific tires make much of a difference if you drive a 4x4 Jeep?

Yes.

4 wheels slipping vs. 4 wheels not slipping.
