It took about 6hrs to download here... and is an hour into the install... that said the internet's kicked off a couple times here today so it may have hampered things, not sure.
I just can't do it. Watching the trailer did nothing for me, WoW has no appeal anymore. Which is interesting considering the olympic hours I put into it a few years ago. Cheers to you though blizzard, you made one of the most successful games of all time last well past its expiry date.

Probably after Halloween the World will start getting attacked by Deathwing. The Changes to the game are quite intense and you feel lost to start with as it is almost a whole new game again.
This expansion will bring back alot of people (myself Included) as a fresh start.

Well the patch last night certainly made me more interested in the game (I've barely played since May). My Elemental Shaman feels all shiny and new with the new abilities and rotation they did for them. I imagine most of the classes feel that way. The new content will get people back the same way Wrath did. The initial wrath trailer did nothing for me, just as the initial cataclysm trailer did...the cinematic trailer though? Pretty impressive. Can't wait to see the one they made for Cataclysm.
I had only played intermittently for the past few months, but I downloaded the patch and logged in to see the new talent trees last night - holy cow, quite the change.
My main was specced frostfire, I'll need to see if that is realistic anymore since it doesn't look like you can select from multiple trees anymore. Or maybe I will just try a few new specs and play around until Cataclysm.

This expansion will get me playing again, the thing that I am looking forward to the most are rated BG's.
The single biggest problem with arenas is having to cordinate between three strangers across the world from each other. So hard to get on for games, being able to queue and play rated games with randoms is so much better. Ya you will get the odd idiot, but for the most part for them to be at your rating they have to be semi competent. With time limits and lowered point caps on all the BG's now as well it is just going to be a lot of fun.

I think this is a good way to get a lot more casual players deeper into ICC. The lag was too bad for me to raid last night but my guild said they 8 manned Saurfang with no Marks - I guess the dps/heal buffs from the new builds paired with the 30% ICC boost is making a HUGE difference.
Also - all the old frost emblem gear just got really easy to buy with Justice Points.

They took off the Chill of the Throne debuff in ICC as well, so I'm curious to know if tanks basically don't get hurt anymore.

That screwed me up briefly as well - your first 31 points have to go into one tree. After that you can start choosing talents from other trees.
I can't do it fellas. I had 2 lvl 80's and 2 lvl 75's, and both my 80's were gladiators for seasons 1-4. I have an addictive personality, and I'm way too competitive. If I came back to wow, I would need the best of the best pvp gear, for all my toons and that would require countless hours of leveling and grinding. I just can't do it haha.
My friends and I have talked about casually playing new toons and leveling just through dungeons in a 5 man group, but I guarantee the first time some horde ganks me outside the deadmines that I'm going to rage and get my DK or Priest and lay a smack down, which will highlight that I need the new gear, and then I'm toast. Better to just leave it be for good than to grind it out again.

^ I've thought about starting fresh in the other Faction... never got around to it tho. Could be a good way to see all the changes to the continent & questing in the expansion tho.

Definitely not a bad idea. Not sure whether you know or not, but the heirloom items are Bind on Account, so you can mail them between opposing factions. The heirloom chest and shoulders each give a 10% bonus to experience from quests and killing mobs. Just buy them on your high level and mail them over to your other faction character.
If you knew this already, which is highly possible, then carry on...

I totally get this! It's the only reason I've never played WoW, ever. I'm pretty sure Asheron's Call was one of the reasons it took me 1.5 years longer to finish University.... lol. I think the hours I could log into WoW would be maddening. Better for me to just stay 20 feet away from WoW at all times.

I've used them to level a few characters but didn't know you could mail them cross-faction.

So thanks.
Yeah Cross Faction is fine.
For some reason Cross Server is not which I do not like. I firmly believe Bind on Account should be across Server as well =P
