I bet there is a way to work a lawyer joke into here somewhere, but I am far to tired to come up with a good one.

Haha the inside story? Well... Apparently they haven't found the suspect and the whole thing might have been a joke. If it was a joke then I'd be so damn pissed off that they basically wasted 5 freaking hours of my Friday. I had the feeling that I should've checked out of school earlier. Anyway so we got locked down at 1:30 and we were all laughing our heads off thinking it was another drill and how it was a waste of our time. After 2:15 (which is the dismissal time) they still had the lock down going and you could hear people yelling out in the hallway. (At this point we weren't quite sure if they were the police or the "terrorist" since they were yelling "left door", "right door", "stairwell" while shaking and trying to open the doors to the classrooms. We also heard one of the guys (he was a police but at this point he sounded like a suspect) say "we got the girl, get her out of here")
So we're like 2 hours into the lock down thing, some people were panicking and all that...

Here's something for fotze to make fun of... There were girls who really had to go to the washroom so the staff who was in charge of our resource room gave her a garbage can and 4, (yes, 4 girls) had to go pee in this garbage can inside a closet. (And no it wasn't 4 girls at once, sorry fotze)

I was in English resource room, which is basically the "center" of the school. Well 3rd floor, so we got evacuated in the middle of the pack. Well the fun part was when the police were yelling "CITY POLICE" and they were basically trying all the keys trying to get into the room. About 5-10 cops bursted in with their guns pointing at us telling us to keep our hands up and that sort of thing. (They had all kinds of guns. Some officers had hand guns, some had assault rifle, and apparently some had shotguns but I haven't seen the shotguns). They spent few minutes searching the room and they were like "Wow theres whole bunch of bodies in the room." Later, they asked us to stand and keep our hands up where they can see it and basically evacuated us into the gym. Before we got into the gym, we were all searched for weapons.

So we spent another 2 hours in the gym waiting for the other classrooms on the 4th and 5th floors to get evacuated. Some people were basically balling their eyes out when they were coming into the gym and there were some paramedics helping out the students who were in shock. So as soon as we were free to go, I came on CP on my phone to check if it made the news and apparently it did.

But I'm going to be seriously pissed if this was a joke and I wasted 5 freaking hours of my Friday being locked down in a school.

It was definitely a gun-shaped christmas ham.

You think you were inconvenienced? I work at MRC and I had to drive home a different way and it added at least a couple of minutes onto my drive.

I'm alright though thanks.

Something that struck me after hearing on the news that students were patted down because of a worry that the perpetrators might have tried to blend in with the students:

It's a Catholic school; don't they wear uniforms?

Not when I went there. Many of the students at Carroll (myself included) weren't even Catholic back then. I'm guessing that hasn't changed.

I hope all you kids learned a valuable lesson:

Put out for your boyfriends or they'll find you. With guns. Or Gun-shaped sandwiches at least.

I pack double semi-automatic Monte Cristos, myself. Without any of that pansy icing sugar, either.

The icing sugar is part of the disguise.

It also helps keep the blood sugar up during those pesky lockdowns.

I personally prefer a sawed-off salami on rye.

Nope, it's another school forming the Separate School system, of which maybe about a third of Calgary's kids attend. None of them require uniforms.
