Exactly. Cut out the middle-men. Drink in your basement. Alone.

Ummm, according to Alcoholics Anonymous, that is a no-no.

4. Do you drink alone?

If you have answered “Yes” to two or more of the questions, this is a warning to you. These are all signs that you could easily become an alcoholic. Control, or even better, STOP your drinking. These are all early warning signs of alcoholism, so there is still time to change your ways before it is too late.

Y'all are confusing "boozing" with "partying".

What I typically do is take it all back, and select the tip out from that. This rule suggests that this is wrong. What should I do?
Depends where you're at. From what I've noticed lately from going to clubs, the bartenders(I dont mean anything by this, but its usually the women ones) will already extract their tip from your change(which I notice is around a dollar). So in this sitchy you dont even need to worry about it, though it still p***** me off when they do it.

EDIT: I see this has already been mentioned earlier in this thread. Good to see its not just me being made a chump out of. The worst is when youre drunk and dont realize they've already extracted their tip from you until you've already dropped a loonie in the tip jar. It makes me want to pull a Costanza and fish it back out of there.

In my 12 years of consistent drinking in many bars and clubs, I have never seen them extract their tip from me.

The worst for me is when you drop your dough in the jar just as they turn around so they don't see. Or you tip without even any acknowledgement!

You're a luckier man than I. I dont recall it happening to me until a couple years ago, now its pretty constant; maybe its a new phenomenon. It only happens to me at the teener bars(which I try to avoid these days, but my gf's a little younger and still drags me to em once every couple of months), and judging by the fact you mentioned you've been legal for 12 years, I'm sure you wouldnt find yourself in such an establishment anymore. If you're ever in Edmonton, make your way over to Oil City Saloon on Jasper Ave and I bet you'll experience it firsthand. I was there on Sat with my gf and her sis and they were trying to gouge us all night from the second we walked in the door, ridiculous.

...in PA you can't buy beer in the liquor store, you have to buy it at the beer distributor or at the bar. You can pick up a six-pack at the bar to take home, and you can also buy a take-home forty (it's actually a 32 I think, but you see the point).

Naturally the take-home six-pack and the take-home forty is cheaper than the individual bottle or pint in the bar...the problem is that they don't let you drink the take-home stuff in the bar.

...all this talk about tipping...on Miami beach I bought a Powerade...it cost $3.50 which is a ridiculous price for a powerade, but the worst part is that the lady (and she wasn't even hot...she was old) only gave me $1 back on $4...tipping on a $3.50 powerade on a beach? come on.

On a side note powerade is better in the US...they have better flavors such as "orange" and "lemon-lime" ....none of this "solar flare" crap.

One time when I went to Cowboys last year for 25 cent draft night I was told that I had to give her a tip if I wanted my beer. I was planning on giving one anyways, but she told me I didn't give her enough money for the 4 drafts or whatever it was I was getting. (I was going to put other money in the jar) Mandatory tip? Doesn't that ruin the entire point of tipping?

7. Have you even passed out from drinking?

You've got to be kidding me. If you passed out once when you were 19 you're one question away from being an alcoholic?
15. Does it bother you if someone tells you that you drink too much?

Who answers "no" to this question? I could have a sip of wine, "you're drinking too much" of course that'll bother me!

Stupid test, I guess I'm an alcoholic! Now where'd I put my beer?

As the saying goes, I'm not an alcoholic I'm a drunk. Alcoholics go to meetings.

Also, it's been a while since I've made it back north to drink, but here a dollar a drink tip is considered good.

"Note: This is not an interactive quiz"

Question 21: Have you been clicking on all of your answers while taking this quiz and are now trying to figure out how to submit it for grading?

In Alberta i dont believe theres an exception for tipped employees but in some jurisdictions, minimum wage doesnt apply to tipped employees.
Not in Canada, provincial minimum wage applies to everyone in that province.

Ditto. If they want a tip then they have to give you the right change, smart servers exploit this well.

I personally agree with you. Europe does it quote frequently. 15% gratuity is built into the price, but if you're a tourist (read: American) they expect you to tip on top of it anyways.

I remember a question of: "Have you ever had 3 or more drinks in one sitting?"

Are you kidding? I had more than 3 drinks before I took this test!

Haha, I know that Europe does it....but this was Cowboys...where they do not have a tip built into the price....this bartender just figured that it should be mandatory
