Haha! That should be great.

I'm also curious to see how the Goth's (Kynt and vixon is it? I keep wanting to call him Flint...lol) do. I don't think anyone gives them much of a chance, but i think they surprised a few other teams so far.

So far, my biggest hate is for the Brother-sister combo who came in first. Right from the start... when the brother said "we have an advantage in the race, because they are more intelligent", just because they are Engineers. I find this funny because i deal with engineers on a daily basis and a lot of them have this same attitue.
I'm an engineer and I really hate it when people talk like that as well. Your education doesn't define you as a person. It also ends up reflecting poorly on me sometimes as well because people assume I'm like that. It's just not a win-win situation no matter how you look at it.

Yeah, i feel for you, for sure.

I might add that I deal with a few outstanding engineers as well, but sadly, the humble engineer is a rare commodity, lol

Yeah, that was the family one. They went to Montreal and Toronto that year IIRC.

Sort of lame to start a pool after week one. But we've had them in the past. But we can start one with 10 people.

So I'm in. First 9 people to PM me can join too.

What line of work are you in? I only ask because....that's a lot of my sentiments in dealing with engineers which I too do on a daily basis.

I'm a Landman (or land agent, i suppose), you?

Though not involved in anything major myself, I have heard some pretty good stories about some of the "differences of opinion" between landmen and engineers.. lol.

I'm just a lowly draftsman. The unfortunate part of my job is that I generally have to point out flaws in their designs or ask them to clarify something that I think they intentionally made confusing hoping someone else would screw it up so they can pass the buck when I deal with them...so right off the bat I'm criticizing their work, which makes things challenging at times to say the least.

while we're on the topic of the brother/sister couple, don't they seem really touchy?

That's because they are engineers

you're right though. If this keeps up, they may become pretty good villians. The amazing race wouldn't be nearly as good if they didn't have a couple like that.... so I hope they go far.

I can relate. I really don't know a darn thing about engineering, and I make that known up front. You certainly won't find me telling them how to do their job, however.

On the other hand, I know how to do my job. To have an engineer constantly respond to me by saying "make it happen or "do it this way" is so frustrating. Sometimes things aren't so black and white. I think many engineers only see things as black and white (i guess it makes sence though, since they probably require that kind of thinking in their job). Most of my frustration stems from that line of thinking though. There is plenty of "in between" if you will, in the land industry.

I would be in.

I couldn't see the first episode so I will have to base my choice solely on the superfitiality of their pictures on CBS. So hopefully there are some cute girls to choose!

I'm interested in joining the pool.

I won the CP Amazing Race All Stars pool. I would attribute that victory to my incredible intelligence... oh ya i'm an Engineer.

Well I had requested PM's to get in.

So by that measure

HD, VFF, and BigMac19 claim the first three spots. From there I guess I'll go with who posted first so that leaves us with Moon and Yeah_Baby.

Sorrry ZDogg....we have decided that this is a no engineers club I guess. I'll do a draw here when I get a spare minute and post the order.
