Do you think that if they didn't like the laughter they would continue doing this act on stage? People that find this funny aren't laughing at their disability, it's the content.

Everyone handles their situations in a different way. To suggest all would do this or find it funny is laughable.

While i didn't find it funny, it certainly was far from offensive. Maybe it floats someones boat, just not mine.

You don't have disabilities like that. What is more degrading is saying that someone with disabilities is not allowed to use an open forum to portray their life in a way they seem fit.

Show me where I said they couldn't use an open forum to portray their life that way?

you dont think telling people how to act with their dissability is doing exactly that? seems to me that you want them to stop because it makes YOU uncomfortable, not them. disabled people have enough negativity in their life, if this makes them happy, all the power to them.

No I do not. I merely posted my opinion of the video and somehow you think I want them to stop. They are free to do whatever they want as I don't have to watch that garbage any more.

The real issue here is the fact that you can't stand that I different opinion than you and you feel the need to attack me for it.

Prison for Man Who Faked ######ation

TACOMA, Wash. (AP) - A Vancouver man was sentenced Friday to 13 months in prison for pretending to be mentally ######ed in order to claim disability benefits.
Pete J. Costello, 28, pleaded guilty in February to conspiracy to defraud the government and to Social Security fraud. He began receiving disability benefits when he was 8. He was ordered to repay the $59,226 he has received since turning 18.

Don't start putting words into my mouth. Did I say ALL would do this? No I didn't. To me, it sounds like you are saying that ALL people with disabilities aren't good comics and should just take the abuse and hide. If you can't feel good about yourself, you'll never get over it and anything anybody says will just hurt even worse.

I'm not going to find this offensive only because they have a disability. If they want to be treated as equals, that is what we are doing. Are we not allowed to laugh with them?
