You could tell she was lip syncing the first time she sang the song, there is no way that in one part of the chorus you can make your voice sound the way it does in the song. Just getting busted sucks...and then blaming it on her band....oh man that was bad...

Just a question, but did anyone listen to her music before. Personally I heard around 10 seconds of it, and I had to change the radio station that it was on, or it could have been the TV station. The sooner music can rid itself of such crap the better for everyone.

it's not uncommon to do. Award shows lip sync pretty much every act, it's to prevent error from happening during the show. Ever notice you rarely get a good look at the lips of the performer?
The thing is it's "Saturday Night LIVE" so really it shouldn't have been done in that formatt because they give the impression that it's live. Infact they say it IS live "Live from New York, it's Saturday Night!"
I didn't see it, and I didn't download the clip (not yet anyway)
if she keeps her mouth shut (on this but keeps singing, in the real sense) then she should be fine.
Wonder how long SNL was doing this?
|
Uh, maybe you should have looked at the clip. Your comments were pretty irrelevant.

Not really, I figured she was just using her sisters fame to her advantage. No one will even talk about her in a month or so. Another question, does anyone else think she looks more like she's Paris Hilton's sister rather than Jessica?

I wouldn't say that she was using her sisters fame to her advantage, considering she outsold any of Jessica Simpsons album by like an 10 to 1 margin with her debut. I think it is hilarious that she got busted and I wish it would happen to more acts that lip synch.
oh yeah she could definitely pass for Paris Hiltons sister. She doesn't even really look like Jessica if you ask me. All three of them are hot though.

Maybe it was intentional. Think of all the press she is going to get now. No such thing as bad publicity.
Getting caught did not work to well for Milli Vanilli though.

Yeah, but they were lipsyncing to someone else's voice completely.

You think so? Paris Hilton is such a nasty skank that whatever physical attributes she has (which are few, considering she weighs about 75 pounds) are washed away for me. Apparently her third sex tape has made it out into the world, and this one has her using the N* word, among other things. She's like an undercover porn star, that one.
Maybe I've just never noticed before, but there seems to be a flooded market for vaguely talented or non-talented "cute" girls right now. None of them demonstrate much acting or singing ability, they don't really do anything, but they are famous as all get-out. The whole Paris-MaryKate-Ashley-Ashlee-Jessica-Nicole-Britney cadre -- them gals is making a fortune, but they can't really do anything.

Essentially what it is, RO, is that CDs cost more money than your average poster or magazine, and these girls aren't hot enough to sell posters unless they're otherwise famous. Ka-ching! Make some half-assed records, sell a few million of them (sigh), then whore her out to anybody who wants to take her picture and sell it.
Then, when the public gets bored, they're cast off since they didn't have any intrinsic worth in the first place and they're completely forgettable. Nobody mises them. Next!

My feelings as well. I don't find Paris Hilton attractive at all. Dumb girls make me run for the hills, especially ones that weigh less then the dogs they carry around as handbags.

The sad thing is, the music biz will keep pumping out this mass produced garbage, teenagers (and adults too) will keep buying the crap, shows like SNL will book it, Rollingstone puts them on the cover...this won't make a difference, a new ashlee simpson will simply replace her in a few weeks. People need to wake up and stop buying the crap that's fed to them, and maybe some real artists will eventually get some attention again.

I'm not the biggest Ashley Simpson fan, but I am a card carrying member of the "won't kick her outta bed" club.
It seems to me by the clip that the band started to play the "wrong" song when they realized that the vocal track of "Pieces Of Me" was playing. Before the vocals came out, it was all just a drum beat. I have not heard the other song she was gonna sing, I think it was called "Autobiography", but it seems like ad-libbing to save the moment by the band. And what does she do, she blames the band for her mishap. Damn...
Of course we all know that bands who play for singers don't get nervous, especially on SNL. Heaven forbid they should screw up. Classless move by the hottie.

No, I probably wouldn't kick her out. Like most guys, I've had my share of mornings where you look over and just want to gnaw your arm off.

Making the incident all the more embarrassing, Simpson took an emphatic stance against lip-synching when asked about her views on the practice in a recent magazine interview.
"I'm totally against it and offended by it," Simpson told Lucky magazine. "I'm going out to let my real talent show, not to just stand there and dance around. Personally, I'd never lip-synch. It's just not me."
