I find it hard to believe that the Flames could've gotten any better of a return for Kadri in his entire tenure as a Flame (past and future) so I think this has to be a 10

I like clicking on the votes to see who gave this a ridiculously low score.

Its like they shame themselves.

Dammit, I misread the rating system. I wanted to give it an 8 not a 3.

10 - No distractions , Terrible team going forward , get out of the contract when you want to be on the upswing , and good return

Easily a 10 out of 10 based on 20% RS. Only way they get more is more salary retained. $1.4M is less risky for 3 years though.

This is a great deal for us, there was a huge chance Kadri’s value drops to zero in the very near future.

He's really not. I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if the Flames just let him walk this summer.

If anything, acquiring Olofsson improves their tank chances since it means Gridin goes down.

going for a strong 9. When we paid a 1st to be able to give him a fat retirement contract, I never imagined we'd be able to get a 1st, 2nd and more for him a few years later. Tidy work from Conroy.

They traded a player they signed as a UFA. That's a load of assets the Flames will grow this next core with.

They almost recouped the two first rounders they lost out on with the Monahan trade, hard not to like what they did today.

This is a 10 for me. 1st, 2nd, prospect for a 35 year old. Light retention is not an issue.

They lost one first-rounder on the Monahan trade. The Habs got a 1st for Monahan only because they re-signed him when he was eligible to go UFA. If he had stayed here, he might have walked for nothing. He might even have signed the same deal with Montreal and they would have gotten that 1st anyway!
