We all know how this is gonna go.
They'll go on a heater, and end up 10th.
This is the way.

Bieksa just said to get rid of Sharangovich and that he is a disgrace to the NHL.

Defensively this is how we thought they'd look last year with only 2 bonafide top 4 dmen.
Hanley and Pachal have taken a step back. Weegar isn't playing good. And now the d-core is ugly.
And they still can't score

There is no way this organization can misinterpret the start to this season. Trade the vets, play the young guys, draft high in 2026 and 2027, and open the new arena with a team that I would actually want to pay money to see live.

One day after we draft some good ones we'll kick the crap out of Vegas and pee on them, to honor their club name.
(but really, F that team and franchise)

Tore him a new one. Even Hrudey agrees. Glad we signed him a year before we needed to for a silly contract.

The Flames defence after this season should be bad enough to allow the Flames to be very bad for at least 5 years. Trade Andersson and if Weegar wants out with no dmen outside of Parekh that appear ready to be top 4 NHL dmen before 2030 it could be a good run of top 5 picks.

The HNIC panel seems to be questioning our leadership and the players not trying.
I thought that the reason we kept all these old geezers was for their leadership? If they aren't going to do anything then trade them while they still have value!

Same with Huska.
Conrot has done some good things, but also some really stupid things.
It appears the Flames plan of having management fail upwards isn't working.

Really think it’s time to bring up kuz and bruz and just let them rotate into the lineup. Bean and miromanov are not good, have expiring contracts, and they are not going to get meaningfully better. No sense in spending more assets (ice time is an asset imo) on these two.
And I’m fine with the youngsters rotating through. The old ‘they need to be playing every day’ thing is not relevant. Both of those youngsters have already done the daily AHL thing. Let them rotate into NHL games. Don’t spend that ice time on sunk costs that are now just wasting ice time.

Even if we somehow get McKenna, we still have a moron behind the bench that will probably play him on the 4th line for 10 min a night.

IMO the panel is just coming up with a conclusion and looking for evidence to back it up, rather than the other way around.
7 goals in the last 5 games - this team's biggest problem is skill.

I too am fine with this losing. The Flames are on pace to have a much greater chance than usual of drafting elite talent at the 2026 draft, and maybe the clarity will lead to veterans other than Andersson being traded. I especially think the Flames could get a good return for Kadri.

Yeah, this slump is mainly on the quality of D men. And no, Solovyev wouldn’t have improved it. They lucked out last season with above average seasons out of Hanley and Pachal (and those guys may improve again, but haven’t been there so far).
Though I still like Bahl.

Would you like to play in a system where you are told not to attack the puck, to sit back and hope the other team makes a mistake and you maybe can fly the zone and hope your dman is Now to flick the puck out and you happen to get to it first?
Worst hockey system I've ever seen. Not only does it not win without unreal goaltending, it's boring as hell.
Flames really do love their mediocrity.

I agree, it is going to take both of those guys (if they even can be regular NHL dmen) 2-3 years to be at all reliable on the backend. Might as well use them now over Bean and Miro.
