Pretty cool if true. Still think he should be in the Q another year however, don't believe there's a rush. Aydar Suniev and Jaden Lipinski join the team, Sam Honzek and Parker Bell and Lucas Ciona with expanded roles. William Stromgren should be a leader on the team offensively, you hope to see his goal totals in the 25-30 if he plays a full season. Didn't get a call up last year and might have something big to prove.

With Suniev, Lipinski and Battaglia Basha(probably) joining the team and considering Gridin is 19 there isn't a rush at all.

Lipinski is going to the NCAA, and with a 2006 birth year, Battaglia needs to be sent back to the OHL next season if he doesn't make the Flames. Neither will be on the Wranglers.

Self-Derp... Basha not Battaglia.

I don't like that rule. I know it hurts the CHL team's business when their players are poached, but it should be what is best for the players and their careers.

Are articles going to be written in 5 years on how one draft in 2024 turned the Calgary Flames from that mushy middle team into perennial Stanley Cup contenders?

? He did win rookie of the year in the Q, and it's a QMJHL award

What do awards in other leagues really matter?

Gilles Courteau never won the Stanley Cup, does that mean the QMJHL shouldn't have named the league's championship trophy after him?
You don't post enough on here. I always stop scrolling to read Maritime Q Scout. It's my opinion but i'm thinking others feel the same.

Thanks man, this post totally made my day.

Admittedly, living in Nova Scotia, having a real job and not being in university, getting married, having kids, watching the Flames and attending Q games just isn't a focus like it used to be (my oldest is almost old enough to go to all the games, we did get to a bunch of weekend games this year).

As such, I don't have as much to contribute.

I am waiting with baited breath for the 2025-2026 schedule release. Starting this week there's a seasonal non-stop flight from Sydney to Calgary. I want my oldest to experience the Saddledome before it's gone (the youngest is too young to remember).

Edit: by "having a real job" I mean full time employment not part-time university hours. Realizing that may come across a way I didn't intend.
