Cooley in a broadcast job would be amazing. I can't get enough of his interviews. He's got the blunt honesty of Skinner combined with an actual personality and seems a really likeable guy. Rare for a pro hockey player.

Absolutely

Got us twice.

11/25/23 3-1 win 29 saves on 30 shots
12/11/23 3-0 win 11 saves on 11 shots in relief

And now (apparently) this Prosvetov.
They are probably looking to unload Wolf.

It’s been driving me crazy trying to recall why I know who he is. This is totally it, thanks!

Quick. Someone call Jay feaster and ask him if he’s the best goalie not currently in the NHL. He will know for sure.

He'd have to have the guaranteed NHL money to come over I would think. Otherwise he'd stay home. Perhaps if he doesn't earn an opening night spot, he goes back to Russia.

Didn't think the Wranglers would roll with two rookies to start with. One of Say or Sergeev may get ECHL time (the upside is lots of playing time).

Murphy really hasn't stuck with the Wranglers. He's likely done with the organization.

I'm guessing the ECHL would be a step backwards in terms of competition and resources compared to the NCAA. I wonder if an ECHL stint would be good for their development.

I think he's happy to come if the money and term is right. If not, and he needs to sign a 1 year deal, he may as well go somewhere where he has a better chance to logs more starts.

The ECHL is not so bad for goaltenders. Many NHLers have started there. They'd see a lot of rubber.

I was wondering if you had the opportunity to watch any of the Flames Russian prospects this past season?. Anyone else in Russian Leagues that would be a good fit with Flames?. Thanks

Not surprising as Vladder was at the barber shop a few weeks ago saying thanks and goodbye.

Good insurance depth. Cooley didn't inspire much confidence in the back third of the season. Still room for Vladar if Sergeev can start in the echl for 1 season.

With two years left on his KHL deal, he definitely must have assurances of a NHL contract. I guess we’ll find out if it’s the Flames soon enough. Have to admit that the crease is getting crowded.

I assume Sigalet has liked what he has seen from this guy. His stats are very underwhelming, as is his previous NHL experience. However, stats aren't everything, so either Prosvetov has either taken steps forward in his development, or the Flames think there is enough there to bring him in on a one-way, stick him in the AHL and work with him.

If Vladar is gone - and if it is Cooley battling with Prosvetov - then that's probably a step backward for the team. Vladar was good. Maybe Cooley is ready - he had a tonne of tools, just didn't have the benefit of consistent coaching. Maybe Provetsov is ready. My bet is Cooley moves up onto the Flames, and for the first time since i can remember, the Flames' AHL farm team will be backstopped by two Russian goalies.
