This is an excellent contract. It has huge upside for Calagry.

And Coronato gets lifetime security, and will be a UFA as a reasonable enough age that he can cash in if he becomes a star.

Well done Conroy.

Great deal. I think he has a really good chance to out perform that cap hit within a couple of seasons.

Buying a prime Ufa year would’ve been pricey. Probably would take the aav over 7 imo

Presumably Coronato wanted 6, Flames wanted 8, they settled on 7. Coronato wants to be a UFA at a younger age.

All about leverage.

Very reasonable deal. Prefer a 8 year deal even it increased the contract to $7 or $7.25. Next lets get Wolf signed to a 7 or 8 year deal.

Contact takes him to 29 so we got him for his best years and he goes to UFA in his 30 yo season.

Thought it would be 8 years but I'm not very knowledgeable about how contract negotiations work. Either way both sides got a reasonable deal done

Nice to see the Flames not take the bridge deal option for once.

Nice to see the team entering a phase where they sign and keep their young stars, not drive them away.

Don't bridge any of the kids. Invest in them and profit. Show the next batch of up and comers you will be rewarded if you work hard enough.

One of the first I can remember since they extended Rasmus

Ya wow, I'm pleased with this, feels like that would of been a fair AAV for the production he brought last year and he's only just getting started. Is Wolf next? Is his contract similar?

long-term deals for Coronato, Wolf and possibly Zary would be a huge statement this offseason, especially when you consider how Treliving handled our previous young core. Glad Conroy is seemingly approaching this differently. Hoping a 7 or 8 year deal for Wolf is next.

It’s great problem to have to sign 21 and 22 year old drafted players to large long term deals.

They have to get Bahl signed as well.
