Change of scenery deal. I wanted a two way C with a similar style to Suzuki to give me a solid 1-2 punch and Pat needed more flexibility positionally.

Had a bit of a logjam at C and Goffie offered me one of the best young goal scorers in the league. Pretty easy deal as much as I love Aho I feel really good with Point and Hischier down the middle

Doesnt make a whole lot of sense how you need to add to Beniers to trade for an older guy on a UFA grid contract.

I'll be honest here, between the two sites on my phone I misread it and thought he had a year left. This why I usually don't do deals on my phone. The good news isn't I can't accept things until I get home so I would have caught it before I accepted it.
Edit - I have now got on my work computer too look at it, which I hate doing, and I have no idea what Simmer is talking about. He's signed for next year.

Ofcourse I can back out now. Until a trade is accepted a trade isn't accepted. If Simmer was right and I misread it on my phone because it cut off at the side and I can't enlarge the main site on my phone, I am not going to hold myself to that deal nor feel bad for not accepting it. Now if I pulled out because I got a better offer (which I'll be honest I did) after accepting, that'd be a dick move.

Maybe simmer meant that Parayko has a high salary because his contract was signed under the UFA grid?

Possibly true and I misunderstood that. Regardless, I'm content with the deal.

But his contract lines up with the top rated dman and what they get paid.
If he was making $9.99 mil which his rating suggest he should then I could see why his contract matters. But he isn't. When grids come out, he probably on par for what Hughes and Dahlin will get on the RFA grids.

This is what I meant, yes.
He's on a high contract and there are only 2 yrs left. Then he would need to be signed UFA which is more expensive and Parayko is getting older. So you likely wouldn't re sign him anyways.
So then you get 2 yrs for a Top 6 RFA.
That's where adding a pick like a 2nd makes no sense.
I'm not wanting to get in the way of a deal here, just sharing an opinion that I definitely don't get the added pick.
