Now both Murray and Jarry look like scrubs at 29/20 years old, can't keep an NHL gig and meanwhile 40 year old MAF is still rocking as an NHL backup with a 2.5 GAA and a .910 save %.
Goalies are voodoo 99% of the time

Fleury also lost the starting job on every team after he left the Pens.

Do they have 2 better goalies? That team is Only Connor Bedard and Connor Bedard only right now. Everything else is swappable.
I even saw rumors of Levshunov being available when he was healthy scratched this past week.
Hawks also don't need to care about cap right now either. They just need to find pieces that work together. Hawks are bad bad bad .

All I can get

He'll clear...
Will the Pens then move him by eating salary? That'll be a hefty bite.

Makes no sense to claim him on waivers.
Flames have the cap room. Trade Vladar for him and a first.

Not just about the stats. Saw a tweet from JFresh, who I believe is a Pens fan, that Jarry has only gone 6 out of 22 starts this year without allowing a goal on the first 6 shots. That is terribly deflating.

I was going to suggest Vladar for Jarry + but they don't have much to trade away. They look like a team that the Flames should take advantage of but I don't see much from them of value

Levshunov was scratched for being late to a meeting.
Quote:
Levshunov, the No. 2 pick in 2024, didn’t sit out Sunday’s Rockford IceHogs’ game due to injury. He didn’t miss it because the Blackhawks didn’t like his play as of late. They’ve actually been encouraged by how far he’s come this season.Advertisement
The reason why Levshunov and Paul Ludwinski, a 2022 second-round pick, missed Sunday’s game was that they were made healthy scratches after they were late for a team meeting. That’s it. Neither is expected to be disciplined any further and both are expected back in the IceHogs’ lineup this week.

Both Mrazek and Soderblom are playing better than Jarry this season, who's play is declining for the 3rd straight season. No one is claiming him, and no one should.

Sounds terrible, but what's the math on this?
If you give up 1 goal from every 10 shots (.900 S%), then you should expect to give up a goal within the first 6 shots, 60% of the time.
So if he had 22 starts, the expected number would be 13 games that this happened. It happened 16 times.
Is that statistically significant?

Cap Hit of 5.3M for another 3 seasons after this.
Too Rich for the Oilers for sure.

I always thought it was telling when the Canes dumped him at only 25, fresh off of being Calder finalist with a .932. I'm as clueless on goaltending nuances and advanced stats as anyone, but when they did that obviously you couldn't help but think they saw something in his game that couldn't be fixed, and that he probably was a very average goalie boosted by a really good team, like what happened to Grubauer's career after leaving the Avs too.

I always find it amusing that no matter what player hits waivers there are always some fans that want to put in a claim regardless of salary or how bad they have been.

I prefer that to wanting to trade for underperforming Oilers.

I think it's because lots never check the salary amount and especially the term.
Commenting without doing that is simply a waste of time.
