Scoring Winger

Reminds me when the women’s soccer team got called for the goalie keeping the ball for over 5 seconds before kicking it, which literally happens every time a goal keeper stops the ball. Yet it was called a penalty in the Olympics. Legit rule but never enforced

I think it's time to get some young legs into the lineup. Could be time for Kirkland to head down and Pelletier or Duehr to come up.

I bet it wouldn't be hard to find several hundred (thousand?) OT line changes that looked just like that, that weren't called.

Kirkland is up for the rest of the year, odd name to pick.
Try Klapka.

Weegar is the one dogging it to the bench but he can't control someone jumping on the ice too soon to replace him. And that someone being Rasmus.

Sorry but that’s just a bad judgement call. Is it technically a penalty? Sure. But referees are given discretion for a reason. That did not affect the play at all and Calgary never touched the puck with more than 3 guys on the ice. The call also wasn’t made until well after the extra guys were off the ice.
Just because a call is by the book doesn’t mean it’s a good call. Terrible judgement IMO.
But whatever. Picked up a point where we could have easily been shutout.

-Yes the guys tapping in jumped the boards a second early
-Didn't factor into Flames possession as the wings were regrouping with the puck
-Was well away from the play
-It's probably a routine thing in OT that is ignored unless players jumping on get involved in the play before the other gets off

It’s got nothing to do with officiating
Somebody here said that this road trip was 4 winnable games (or something to that effect)
Who was it
It’s time to own up!
All in all
So far, this road trip at 1 out of 4 points against non playoff teams is keeping the tanker/losers happy
That’s the bright side

I'd be surprised if Kirkland is up the rest of the year, but maybe for his shootout prowess. Flames just meet a shot of youth and jam.

Most of the time because they almost always have the puck

I believe "by the book" is when the player is 15 feet from the bench the replacement player can jump on the ice. Weegar was 3x that distance from getting off the ice. To not make that call in this situation would be throwing the book away.

Have Bean and Barrie been that bad that Hanley needs to play? He hasn't cost us anything, but the guy is just not on the level of Jake or Tyson.
I'd rather they bring up another forward they can plug in at times. Some forwards right now could use a turn in the pressbox. If Klapka can't draw in, bring someone up that can. Let Barrie/Bean battle for that #6 spot.

They did wait for the Flames to have possession, but by then there was no extra man on. Soo..didn't infringe on the play in any way.
I guess tonight was a "let's call that thing we never call" night.

I wish we could watch the over head camera for the entire OT...I bet you would see many of these infractions both ways
