About to maybe lose Klomp, interested to see what happens there. Would be nice to have him for Champions Cup if we can...

I would be shocked if Klomp is back next year. Nothing left to prove in CPL for him and he's been vocal about wanting to go to MLS. Depends on if he gets a chance with his international status.

Let Shaw go, bring back the rest and that is a solid group to run it back with (assuming Klomp is gone). Wonder if Herdman or the Whitecaps would have interest in another loan?

Finding a left sided left footer is pretty high up the priority list I’d say. Give another dynamic in attack

League1 Alberta news. Calgary Villains will join in 2025. I think it's written in my daughter's U5 contract that I have to support them.

Actually I think the coolest roster move is Daniel Hutchings. What a neat opportunity for a very niche career role!

Looking at the CONCACAF Club rankings, I think these are the lots for the draw on Tuesday:

First round bye: Cavalier (86), Alajuelense (41), Columbus Crew (1), America (2), LA Galaxy (12)
Pot 1: Monterrey (3), Tigres (4), Cruz Azul (5), LAFC (6), Inter Miami (7), Seattle Sounders (10), Pumas (13), Chivas (14), FC Cinncinnati (16), Real Salt Lake (18), Vancouver Whitecaps (28)
Pot 2: Colorado Rapids (31), Sporting Kansas City (39), Saprissa (48), Herediano (51), Cavalry (52), Motagua (55), Antigua (53), Forge (56), Real Esteli (67), Cibao (80), Real Hope (117)

Should we expect "home games" to be at starlight again?

We made Costa Rica & Mexico play in Edmonton in November.

Let's make Inter Miami or Monterrey play at Atco in February.

Tommy said on Sportsnet 960 a few weeks back that the home game wouldn't be in Alberta. McMahon turf getting replaced is really the best short term bet for 2026 and onwards.

Which is also a horrible venue. This is better because it's in Calgary, but McMahon is terrible.

Not being in Edmonton feels like a miss to me as it would be really simple to get busloads of supporters up there for the game, but the weather is better in BC. But I imagine nothing is finalized yet

Maybe they'll go off the board and choose Regina or something!

Glad to be returning to normal course after the championship win, a Cavs fan's favourite past time is complaining about the front office afterall!

I originally never expected us to play at Spruce Meadows in February but the way the club teased us supporters last year with a home Champions Cup game still hurts my feelings It just kind of sucks that we won't have the opportunity to host one of these games. There's no guarantee that qualifying for the Champions Cup will be an annual occurrence.

You would think Edmonton would be an option after Iceteca but who knows.

At least this year we didn't have Ian Allison puffing out his chest insisting the game would be played at Spruce Meadows. Long term, I'll take a game at McMahon in February over a game I have to fly to go to.

I’d do a road trip to EDM for the game, but the cost of that travel package for last years game was just too much for me for a winter trip in Canada.

Speaking of Edmonton, I hope Cavalry draws Edmonton Scottish in the cup this year....
