Was a great watch! Pelts really fills a role behind the scenes and still has potential , you cant put a prospect with pedigree and potential up on waivers when you have hunts and rooneys skating on the big club. With Lomberg on a line , why cant you give the kids a shot on a kids line. The old school fourth line is a thing of the past. Huska mentioned wanting 40 second shifts, pelts ,coronato , honzek , klapka you give hungry kids 40 seconds to buzz around on the forecheck with a little offensive upside to boot. Players used to learn the game in the big leagues....its one thing getting time in the minors and a big role, but its also another thing playing the best in the world and getting better that way. I think sometimes the thought of getting a bigger role in the AHL is overated.
Take everyones minutes down a bit and give the kids 12-13 and see what they can figure out at the highest level in the world. We are building something though that feels legit.

- Some of the "motivational" speeches from management and coaches is so generic. Earn it. Take next step. Set the tone. Huska seems like a bright coach/teacher, but not quite someone you run through a wall for.
- The young guys like Pelts, Coronato look thick. Nice to see they are bulking up a little.
- Can we not find someone with a better shot than Labarbara to shoot on goalies?! That was hilarious.

Maybe, but they do play hard for him, just look at last season. He clearly has their respect. Also if he is mild mannered, the impact is greater when he finally does lose it in the locker room. If he yells all the time, they ignore the message.
I wonder if the Flames have finally found that ideal middle ground coach.

I think people watch too many movies. As long as you respect and trust your coach, you don't need any rousing speeches or garbage cans thrown across the locker room.
Enjoyed the first episode. Can't believe this is the first time the Flames have ever done one of these. Draws fans in even closer to the team. Nice to see management so high on Brz. He's going to be a player, maybe even as early as some time this season, getting a call up and never finding his way back down to the A.

Compared to the NFL coaches you see in the Netflix shows (Quarterback, Receiver), NHL coaches seem mild mannered. I think it’s just the culture of the game. Torts might be the exception.
Ironically enough, in the Flames survey I just filled out I noted I'd like to see more behind the scenes stuff from players and coaches, and they had this in the hopper.
Great stuff from the Flames! Always cool to get a peek behind the curtain. Looking forward to the next episodes.
