Tomasino, Krebs, or Parsinen maybe?

37 NHL games played over 3 seasons as a pro.

4 goals.

6 assists.

2 major injuries.

Doesn’t seem like he has a lot of leverage.

So.

When do we have the French fight the Russians? Because as I recall that didn't go all that well for the French.

Although, Elba doesnt seem that bad really.

Think his instagram was talking about him saying goodbye to teammates after 3 seasons. If that means anything. Might have been for his junior team.

Of our young players I don’t think he’s top of the list. Posipisil, Zary and probably Coronato and Hunt passed him last season.

Although hunt isn’t super young.

Either way he’s not the belle of the ball. Injuries have killed him.

Honest question: Does a higher AHL dissuade teams from a waiver claim?

Not in the slightest.

You claim a guy because you think he can help your team. And you have to keep him on the big club. So A) AHL salary is irrelevant, and B) even if you were thinking AHL, a hundred K or two is nothing for a team with a total salary budget of $100Mish.

Not sure about Krebs, I've never been a fan. If we could get Tomasino or Parssinen for JP, I would absolutely jump for joy.

It's a tough contract to pin down. He was looking like a very functional middle six two way forward. Great engine and attitude. Exactly the kind of player you want in that position. But injuries stole some time and he came back timid.

A deal will happen. Probably a 1 year deal. Maybe 2.

He is obviously waiting for Draisaitl to sign.

That's on a post from 4 years ago after he was traded from Moncton to Val d'Or.

Conroy probably insulted him with a minimum contract which is what he deserves.
Just like Kylington, another overated player by the locals.

He needs to prove he belongs. Right now they don’t even know what kind of player he is

Is someone over rating Jakob Pelletier?

Between Coronato and Pelletier, I wonder who has the better year.
I think I'm leaning Coronato, despite him being 2 years younger. He was arguably already better this past year.

Coronato has way more potential than Pelletier IMO.
I hope Coronato becomes a top 6 forward; Pelletier I'd just hope to be an NHLer.

I'm pretty sure we'll start the season with:
Huberdeau - Zary - Sharangovich/Mantha
Kuzmenko - Kadri - Pospisil
Sharangovich/Mantha - Backlund - Coleman
Pelletier - Rooney/Schwindt - Lomberg

Coronato starts the year in the AHL until one of Kuzmenko or Mantha gets traded.

As for Pelletier"s contract I think it will be figured out rather quickly at 775-850 x 1-2 yrs.
I'd go...

Huberdeau - Zary - Kuzmenko
Mantha - Kadri - Sharangovich
Pelletier - Backlund - Coleman
Lomberg - Pospisil - Klapka

Rooney eats popcorn in the press box and Coronato is the Wranglers leading scorer until we get an injury/the trade deadline.

I think Pelts contract is just going to be a 1 year deal (and that's probably the hold up). I this is his make it or break it season so I don't think the Flames will want a contractual obligation on him beyond this year.

Pelletier is underrated.

Reminds me of people talking about Backlund when he was young.

With Stamkos and Marchesault both taking up scoring roles, Parssinen is in the same boat as Pelletier, being pushed down the lineup. Swapping a winger for a centre, in this situation, might be good for everybody involved.

It's an interesting comparable - Backlund did take time. I'd say his breakout season (.5ppg pace) was his draft +5. Coincidentally, this season is Pelletier's draft +5.

I saw a young Backlund which isn't Backlund Backlund.

If I tossed a poll into this I think you'd see most seeing him as a fourth liner if he doesn't get back to where he was two years ago.

Bottom six player to the vast majority is my guess.
