Morin for me. I like him a touch better than Brzustevicz (by a hair). Not that it really matters, but I remember the head scout of one of the scouting services (forgot which) had Morin as the #1 defencemen on his list in the entire draft. I am not sure I agree so much with that ranking, but the point is that Morin has high upside.

I think offensively he is a clear two steps below Parekh, and probably a step below Poirier and Brzustewicz. However, he is a step above everyone in his defence and physicality. He is great in all areas of the game. I think he had a bit of a disappointing season last year, but just like with Honzek, one season does not make a career or erase everything you have achieved up until that point.

I think Morin has the ceiling of being a #2 guy (I will argue a #1 guy should be an offensive catalyst). I think he has the ability to generate offence, and carry a pair, but just probably doesn't have that elite-level dynamic ability that the new NHL has. He is more of a 50pt guy if everything works out. I think his best comparable right now is Giordano. That's who I see, more than a Makar. Not to say that Giordano wasn't a #1 - he sure was here, but he wasn't a Makar, Hughes, Fox type.

Morin - Parekh has the makings for a top-tier deadly pairing.

Also, I thought Morin was a complete standout at camp last year I thought he was giving himself a chance to actually make the team. I am looking forward to seeing how he looks this time around. I really think this kid may end up becoming a core piece. I only have Wolf and Parekh and core pieces moving forward so far, but I certainly do think that there could already be other core pieces drafted that just haven't developed enough, and Morin is high on my list of potential core pieces. Really love this kid.

Think Pelts will be a good 4th liner.

Morin has the ability to pop and be something special.

Some tough choices around here. Gridin for the upside, although he has the unknown body of work.

Koumontzis would have a last name Scrabble score of 25 which beats our best pro player Sharangovich's 24. And tied with Kuznetzov.

Agreed, I think Pelletier tops out as a 3rd or 4th liner, but I fear he doesn't have the frame for that grind. Hope I'm wrong.

Went Gridin this round for upside. Basha, Mews, and Morin right there as well.

I might be overhyping Stromgren based on recent form, but he's one that I'm just really excited about.

The Misa pick is crazy.

Seems like teams forgot he was still available or what.

Went pelletier.

I think people are underestimating his upside abit.

He's had offensive success at every level except the NHL so far, including a couple PPG seasons in the AHL.

“Except the NHL” is the key. Not saying he’s topped out, but he’s at a 20-25 point pace over 82 in the NHL and took a step back in the AHL this year. Easy to chalk up to injury, but I think he has to build back his reputation before anyone calls him underrated.

Countless guys run it up in junior and the AHL and amount to nothing in the NHL.

Then we can draft his brother next year. Attack of the Misa's!

I voted Grushnikov because I think he’s the closest to being a full time NHLer, and I’m confident he’ll have a decently long career.

Everyone else could be a player if they work out but they’ve got a long way to go.

Pelletier included - needs to show a lot this camp to keep his spot.

Pelletier is a tough one because he is a guy you want to root for. He has so much energy, a great attitude, and scrappy personality. I have doubts that he is going to be an impact NHL player at this point though. Injuries haven't helped his development, and I worry that he is in that area where he isn't a top 6 producer, but also too small and light for a checking line role. I could see him developing into a 4th line energy role maybe.

Two guys with similar size in the NHL are Yanni Gourde and Kailer Yamamoto. Maybe if all the stars align, he could have Gourde upside, but I suspect if he sticks in the NHL, he will be more like a Yamamoto. That's even if he sticks.

I am really pulling for him though, I just wouldn't rank him too high right now.

The highlight video of Misa left me wanting. Nothing particularly stood out skill-wise and a lot of his points were secondary. However, he looked good in camp. He's probably a steal at where the Flames picked him but I see him further down this list.
