The Oilers play in the worst division in hockey with no real competition outside the LA Kings. Unfortunately they will likely be a strong contender for 3rd round status again.

And they weren't good last season
They only had Kulak for a short period of the regular season and then the playoff run, and frankly he looked solid. So using the regular season as the barometer isnt really accurate in my opinion.
