I think he'll probably get in, although not convinced he should- I think its mostly the longevity , maybe only the longevity and the GP record that gets him there. 3 times in an all star game interestingly has been done by a few HOFers (Joey Mullen, Steve Shutt, Rogie Vachon- with others like Bergeron and Getzlaf to follow) but is the territory of guys like James Neal, Brian Sutter, Eric Desjardins, Danny Grant, the DION, Rick MacLeish, Shayne Corson, Tom Lysiak etc- more good than great players- although to be fair once you have been in 3 AS games you are at least pretty good)
his best season end showing was 4th in LW allstar voting one year- that feels about right. once in his 25 year career he was the 4th best player at his position
in baseball terms he strikes me more as an Omar Vizquel or Rusty Staub (*although I realize although they both played an enormous amount of games they aren't actually the GP record holder
