My mental state will be totally fine if they lose as this is only game 3 of an 82 game season. Another slow start would be disappointing but this is just how the organization rolls as players and coaches change but they always lose their opener and usually follow that with a ho-hum October/November. As with the Ducks, the Red Wings are an opponent they should beat but the top players on this team need to start finishing as 2 goals a game will not cut it against any team on most nights.

You have to think if the Flames are in a playoff spot come deadline week, tre blows a bunch of 2nd or 3rd round picks on a mobile 3rd pair right side defenseman to play with Zadorov.

I hope you are right. I am hopeful Kylington can put it all together and keep playing to his potential. He really needs to focus on having a clean game, no major blunders.

If I had to guess, Zadorov is out because Stone hasn't seen a game yet and Gudbranson has been decent.

Also, I numbered the lines above based on how much ice time I expect each line to get. Weird group overall. Monahan's in trouble.

Not for Gudbranson at this point ... unless your argument is career based on not the two games this season.

And Valimaki was pretty good on Monday night as well.

Zadorov has struggled, so it will be interesting to see what he does. My guess Valimaki comes out.

I’m going to show a bit more faith in Sutter and predict that it is in fact Zadarov coming out. He’s the one who deserves to come.

I think Zadorov comes out.

Can't preach that you need to manage the puck better...and keep playing the guy that's throwing spin-o-rama backhand passes right up the middle in the third period.

I have hope that Zadoroz sits to send the message, but have a feeling it won't actually happen.

Would rather see Monahan on a wing than buried. Classic Sutter style though.

Tkachuk-Lindholm-Gaudreau
Mangiapane-Dube-Coleman
Monahan-Backlund-Pitlick
Lucic-Lewis-Ritchie

Feels much more reasonable to me.

Those lines man... Who's going to set up Sean on that third line to build some confidence back in his game? 4th line is almost perfect, until you have two motor guys saddled with Ritchie. Thanks Obama.

I would really like to see Coleman on a scoring line and not backlunds checking line. I’d put him with Mangiapane and Dube or Mony and Mangiapane.

My guess is Valimaki and Gudbranson sit. Zadorov and Stone play.
