There's even another #97 in the league - Kirill Kaprizov.
And he's crazy fun to watch too.

Gusev is fun, too. And Thornton.

Awesome, I always liked his energy and willingness to go toe to toe with anyone.
Sadly though the guy would seem to be everywhere on the ice, and that was part of the problem too, out of position or chasing the big hit.

I'm glad we didn't go after Hall. Dodged a bullet.

Holy ####. That is mind bogglingly bad performance for two guys who are built to score goals. Blow that team up already.

Surprising that those other players have not been more productive, except Neal, but I am not too surprised about Lucic having better production. He came on strong at the end of the year and seemed revitalized.
How much is Hall regretting not signing a more lucrative long term deal? He will probably have to settle for a show-me deal next year.

Nah, he's been pretty solid this year. I'm surprised it took him this long to get his first goal. He's had a LOT of really good chances to score so far. Really good energy and makes the most of his ice time. He's blossoming a little in Florida.

Hornqvist 26gp 11G 22P +2 16:27 TOI
Matheson 18gp 2G 4P +3 19:55TOI
Looking like less of a disaster for PIT than early on (when Matheson was injured)
Kapanen 23gp 7G 18P +12 15:50 (leading the team by far in +/-, B Tanev and McCann next at +9)
Zucker 17gp 4G 7P -5 16:30
MIN now owns PIT's 2021 1st from the Zucker trade, though it's currently trending to be worse than 15th, so they probably made the right call to keep the pick and acquire Kapanen with it.

Sutter wasn't the coach here at the time. Quenville is his coach now. Wish he was here. Him and Hathaway both.

Taylor Hall cost himself millions taking a one-year contract if he continues this pace this season.
Still pretty unbelievable.

His only chance is getting traded to a contender and going on a long run. With his luck he will be traded back to the Yotes or something

I think that was his plan all along. Not sucking for most of the season, but going to a contender via trade. The contenders didn't have the cap space to sign him at the beginning of the season and Buffalo was likely to be a seller, so it was a win-win. Buffalo get's some free assets when they sell him, and he gets to go to a contender at the deadline.

Crosby and Ovi continue to quietly put up numbers.
Crosby 25 pts in 25 gp
Ovi with 19pts in 22gp
The media buzz about the young superstars these days, but these two guys continue to do what they’ve done for a decade and a half. What a treat it has been to watch them.
I’m not sure we see players like this for another generation.

So he can either accept a trade to whichever team the Sabres choose… or stay in Buffalo and suck even more?
That's a hell of a say.

I saw this a couple nights ago and even in the small sample size it is completely outrageous.
The equivalent of 13 full powerplays with 0 goals and just 4 shots against. By the way, after tonight NST is showing he's up to 27:37 and still has 0 goals and 4 shots against.
