Trying to find wingers is just shuffling deck chairs tbqh.

Rewatch the goals the Capitals' second line scored against us.

That breakdown says it all. Vrana's probably not scoring those goals with Monahan or Lindholm or even Backlund. And Gaudreau's not a center, so those first and third plays are not developing the same way on Gaudreau's stick as they do on Kutznetsov's

With Tkachuk expected to play RW tonight, I view LW / RW as interchangeable on the second line. He is playing on the second line in NY currently with those players.

Kase has pretty close even strength points per 60 over the last 3 seasons as Chucky.. who knew. Of course Anaheim's probably not interested in letting him go at this point.

Brett Connolly as well similar even p/60 stats playing with guys like Lars Ellers and Burakovsky would have been good he was an FA in the off season signed for 3.5 mill 6'3 good foot speed. Too bad.

Dont know if Kreider ever leaves the Rangers. He is fitting in really nicely in the rebuild and seems to be loving it too.

Bjustat rings nicely to me. We are replacing Frolik with him IMO. Wont cost a ton to get him. Hes 27 and I think hed fit well here.

Mike McLeod is another one. Except hes a center and could top out as a #2 center. Speed speed speed and crashes the net.

Toffoli, tough to gauge an acquisition cost on him though. Pe sing UFA and how much of an increase does his agent need on Toffolis new contract.

Josh Anderson Please. Not sure how realistic this one is but to me this is the exact player needed on the flames.

Yeah, I'd love to upgrade Frolik in our top 6 RW, but what this team really needs is another legit top 2 line C IMO.

As I mentioned earlier on one of my rants during the washington game, it would be great to get Hall, but I retract the thought of giving up a core piece to do so. I'm sure Treliving is evaluating options daily.
Ferland is playing 4th line minutes in Vancouver. He is dead least for avg toi among Canuck forwards.

He was not going to help the Flames in any way shape or form.

God I wish Hall would sign an extension so I don't have to read this ridiculous crap anymore.

Ferland, as I predicted back when he signed with Vancouver, is once again under concussion protocol. As unfortunate as it is, the guy keeps trying to play with the edge that made his name a few years ago and is now jeopardizing his career.

2019 Michael Ferland is not 2016 Michael Ferland, and I sincerely hope people start understanding this.

Then again a lot of posters seem to enjoy it more when the team is losing so trading Gaudreau and blowing 10+ million a year on Taylor Hall would be a step in the right direction for that.

McLeod may be a great prospect but why are you mixing him in with well established players? And his AHL points aren't nearly as good as Quine, Gawdin or Dube's anyway.

I'm mixing him in because I believe hes a long term and short term answer for the team. And so what about his points. That doesnt alter my belief hes a great fit. His intangibles are important too.

I'm always curious about players that have stalled out or are blocked at the NHL level, but have a high pedigree before landing with their current team.

Looking at Florida, Cliff Pu is in the second year of his contract, after being traded twice last year (first for Jeff Skinner and then for a dishwasher). He was a solid player through junior, improving on counting stats year to year. No barriers in size or skating ability, RH C/RW.

About a third of the league has a guy like this.

I always wonder, trading a guy like Frolik or Jankowski to Florida for a 3rd and seeing if Pu can find his game in Stockon, would the drop-off to bringing up Froese or keeping Quine up permanently be that bad of an option?

I'd almost be happier taking the gamble that a couple of these high end juniors find their touch again, and stockpile a couple of mid picks.

(I should point out that I picked Pu almost at random, because he fit the criteria)

I second the Josh Anderson wish. He is exactly what we need.

Yeah Josh Anderson is ideal.

Probably costs our 1st at a minimum. Which might be attractive given CBJ gave all their picks away last year, then lost 3 all-star players in the summer.

He’s only a short term answer if he can step in this year. It doesn’t look like he can.

My point about points is he seems to be producing no better than what the Flames already have in the system.

McLeod looks to be a PK'er/grinder type. Great wheels, but he never had that skillset to translate as a productive player at the NHL level. Not sure what the love fest is for him - I didn't want him at the draft, and he has proven himself to be a tweener thus far. He is not going to break out on a new team. Calgary has better and more deserving forward prospects. Mcleod is fast, but he sucks.

I like Kreider and Carter from that list. I'm guessing they'll want the 1st though.
