If you were still able to get a breakaway after the first trip, shouldn’t that first call have been a penalty vs. a penalty shot? The first infraction did not result in the loss of a clear scoring chance.

I think it did, personally. You can't punish the Swiss player for not giving up and creating a second clear scoring chance after the fact.

i.e.: I'm pretty sure that if you get hauled down on a breakaway, but recover the puck and your team still gets a good shot on the delayed penalty, it is still a penalty shot because your hard work after the infraction doesn't negate the fact that a clear scoring chance was initially taken away.

Roman has scored the 8th Slovak goal to put them up 8-0.

Yeah, it works well. 2 years from now, it's Edmonton and Red Deer.

Once the new arena gets built, they could do a Calgary-Lethbridge or Calgary-Medicine Hat tournament.

Its pretty clear there is a steep drop off after the 'Top 8' right now in Junior Hockey.

Not even a top 8.

There's the top six, then Switzerland and Slovakia, then a giant cliff that everyone else sits at the bottom of.

Ya, but at least Slovaks and Swiss (and Czechs) make games interesting. USA only beat Slovakia 2-1 and Canada only beat Switzerland 3-2. There are ledges from 1 through 8 but there is a cliff after that to the point the games aren't even entertaining.
