The problem is, this time there might be an even better proven talent fired later on. If the Caps go out in the first two rounds I could see them changing coaches too. Do they wait and see? Or do they just try to hire a good coach now and get it over with?

In the 12 seasons since he first joined the Canucks, his teams have finished first in their Division 7 times, and have had home ice in the first round of the playoffs 8 times.
The Flames have had home ice in the first round once in the last 22 seasons.

I would be very excited to have him as a coach. I don't demand that he becomes the coach, however we better not be missing out on an opportunity like this over the next week because GG isn't fired yet. If the last month (or last 2 years) haven't told you everything that you need to know....
