I had a much more eloquent description of the play all set, but this will do.

NHL-wide McDavid no-touch policy in effect yet again.

B.S. He felt the stick and immediately dropped to the ice. Jones didn't even have time to put any leverage on him.

Not even close to a can opener. He knew the stick was between his legs so he twisted his body and fell on it.

And terrible shot selection on that PP. Greedy McDavid. Diving McDavid. Crybaby McDavid. All kinds of McDavid.

The Jets had a 1-0 lead after the first period, goal by Schiefle. They lead now 4-1 after forty minutes.

Oilers were some kind of awful in this game.

McDavid is not likable.

I'm totally with you, Oilers is awful, but Columbus is on a 16 win streak now, there's been a plenty of teams who've been awful against them.

Damn they play good.

I'm not sure what's more impressive: the Penguins' 17 game win streak in a league with less parity, or what Columbus is doing now with shootouts.

Wow. 16 games! Am I correct in remembering that the Detroit Red Wings hold the single season record of 17 straight games?

It's almost not fair because the Oilers are so terrible.

It warms my heart to see McElhinney, not only still in the league, but on a team like Columbus capturing lightning in a bottle. I always felt bad that the Flames never showed up on nights he was in net.

Pittsburgh Penguins: 1992-93 won 17 games in a row. That's the record.

I believe Detroit had something like 20+ home wins in a row but Penguins holds the record with 17, in 92-93 season.

Ashasx and Cali Panthers are correct.
