It would help to set some parameters on how we define "short time," since several of these players are ranked in the Flames' top-100 all time games played (Nilson, Huselius, Aucoin).
Since the mean number of games played for every player to wear a Flames jersey is 70, I would suggest that a "short time Flame" be defined as any player to appear in >70 games for the team.
With that metric in mind, my favorites are either Mike Commodore or Freddie Brathwaite.
Huselius played over 200 games as a Flame. I wouldn't consider him a short-term Flame. He's 98th on the franchise games played list (out of 512 players who've played at least one game for the Flames).
That Brett Hull kid was pretty good. 51 points in 57 games for the Flames.

2 x for Tonelli. I can imagine him in the shootout, dumping it in the corner... digging it out and roofing a chopper from 10 feet out. All while pouring buckets of sweat.

Yeah but 200 games wasn't enough.

Chris Simon. Underrated part of our cup run. He played that pivotal powerforward and net front presence role. Couldn't be moved and had the hands to finish. We've lacked that type of player for years but hopefully between Tkachuk, Brouwer and Chiasson we've finally got some powerforwards.

Owen Nolan. The greatest hockey player who ever lived.
Me too.
Tough as nails and could play. Loved when he beat the crap out of Stortini. I actually felt bad for Stortini cause he was this next big heavyweight and he got beat so badly by a guy almost old enough to be his dad.

Freddie was our number one for at least three seasons. He had to have played in more than 70 games.
Does Joey Mullen count? He only played like 4 seasons with the Flames (inexplicably). He was so underrated.
John Tonelli was great.
Sergei Priakin was notable if for no other reason than he was the very first Soviet granted permission to play in the NHL.
I suppose Brett Hull deserves a little consideration even though he was a fat fata. He didn't directly help the Flames but you could argue trading him helped the Flames win the Cup.
