Many people saying it's a tough choice between Tkachuk and Jankowski (and I agree), yet the vote is a landslide. I'm going Jankowski in a futile attempt to even it out.

That 2009 list is grim. CP had an early read on Brodie but at that point we still didn't really know how good he was

Really enjoy this now that it's an annual thing - thanks Bingo. Also, the look back to 2006 and 2009 is a nice reminder how far the prospect pool has come.

Went with Tkachuk based on upside, age and path to the NHL in hopefully2 years or less. Jankowski and Gillies also in the mix. Kylington and Hickey also intriguingly strong prospects.

While I do understand why you are saying this...consider if the Flames have an injury to a defenseman, is it not possible someone like Hickey shows extremely well as a call up and makes the jump permanently? This is why I voted the way I did; just to explain.

Jon Gillies, no slight to Tkachuk but I believe Gillies is the real deal and a future star between the pipes.

Is it really that tough to pick between Jankowski and Tkachuk? Jankowski still isn't even a lock to even play a game in the NHL, while Tkachuk will likely be a top 6 player at 18 years old, 19 at the latest. It's Tkachuk by a mile.

It's funny with these kinds of things.

The player himself deserves a ton of credit for developing into the quality of player he is, and I'm sure some of the guys ranked higher probably didn't work at developing as much. Obviously it's not all hard work, but Brodie's skills seem like they are 1 part talent, 1 part practice (backhand passing etc).

I will not delete my account. I have followed Gillies a lot more than Tkachuk. I truly believe he can become a franchise goaltender. They do not grow on tree's.

A pity vote? Kinda takes away from the legitimacy of your future votes and the exercise generally.

Tkachuk is a no brainer at #1. #2 will be interesting though. I imagine Jankowski Vs. Gillies will be the battle, and then things get even more interesting for 4 and beyond.

...it's cool to finally have prospect pool with so much potential.

I'm in this boat as well. I'm trying to think beyond who will make the NHL first and consider who might have the biggest impact. I think Gillies has that potential.

certainly not going to tell everyone how to vote, but I don't think taking the guy that almost everyone had ranked 4th in this year's draft is shiny new toy syndrome.

It's impact new prospect syndrome.

Would have been interesting to see the majority vote of A. Nylander instead of Tkachuk (an experiment we can't run).

Tkachuck for me ...

I think round 2 will be a battle though.

The only bad part about these polls are the posters who want to play vote police or generally deride other people's reasoning. Happens every year, and every year people need to be reminded that it's bad behavior and only serves to bring down the level of conversation.

So this is the reminder for this year. Respect other posters please.

If you don't understand why someone would vote they way they do, you should be able to ask about it in a non-offensive way.

Agreed if the vote is because someone honestly believes X prospect is going to be/is better than Y prospect. I read Murph's post to mean he/she voted just to try and close the gap between Jankowski and Tkachuk and not because Jankowski is/will be the better prospect. That type of voting should be called out (might also just be lack of clarity from Murph's post).

Hickey will be in college this year and can not be recalled

Even if it should, you're not an admin or the OP and certainly not the vote police.

Your opinion is not better than his. Suck it up or disagree respectfully.
