The difference with Shinkaruk is that he's already played a full productive season in the AHL, on a better team. And I don't think Huska can do anything more with him than he's already done.

I like the "Shikarak"It sounds like some kind of exotic dance.
People find the most entertaining ways to butcher relatively non-difficult surnames.

I still cannot wrap my head around this trade, from the Nucks point of view. Nothing about it makes sense.
 Voted yes.

We, as flames fans, should have learned our lesson with small sample size end of season players (Sven, akim aliu, etc.). However I will say he's looked good. And I'll also add that if he played with JOHNNY and mony all year, it would be a huge disappointment for him to get 30pts in 82 games...

He's a lot more aggressive than I thought he would be. He doesn't look out of place but as said this is a small sample size but he looks like he'll be in the mix to claim a spot. Not going to vote.

Plays a bit like Cammy but a better skater. I think he can play in the NHL full time next year but the "process" is in the way of that. I don't know how it'll all shake down but I feel like he'll be the quintessential winger for Bennett.

What is this process you speak of and why does it hate Hunter Shinkuruk?

It doesn't hate Shinkaruk. The Process is treliving speak for over ripening players. It's never a bad thing. Sorry, I wasn't being pessimistic or anything, they just want to take their time with the kids and make sure they're eased in.

But I do believe Shinkaruk looks ready.

I've seen more in two games from Shinkaruk than I've seen from Poirier in two years. Still don't think he plays the full season with us next year, but he has as good a shot as anyone. I'd anticipate he plays between 40-60 NHL games, and establishes himself as a full time NHL player by Christmas.
Not writing Emile off by any stretch, but I do not see an explosive super pest in the mold of Alex Burrows when I watch this player.

I still feel weird liking Shinkaruk now. He seems cool though.

Honest question. If he couldn't make one of the worst forward groups in the NHL what makes people think he could make the Flames next year? I rather he start in the AHL next year. Detroit has done that with their prospects and largely been successful don't see why he needs to start on the Flames next year.

Sven couldn't make our team last year and he was a full time Canuck this season.

Shinkaruk has shown us a little something. It's a glimpse. He has an off season to prove he's not Mark Cundari.

I don't think he'll make the team out of camp.
I don't think he'll play the full season.

I do think he'll play a significant number of games for the Flames, and have earned a spot on the roster by the end of the season.

Both Shinkaruk and Gaudreau scored their first NHL goals in the second period with deflections during late-season, road-game blowouts.
On both goals the other forwards on the ice at the time were Sean Monahan and Joe Colborne.

Shinkaruk is going to be a beast.

He has been playing pretty well. At this point I say he is ahead of Emile. Emile looks a bit lost. Not sure what happened. Hunter shows good speed and spunk. Very motivated to get the chance it seems.

I'm abstaining from this vote. WAAAAAYYYYY too soon to gauge properly. 2 games isn't nearly enough of a sample size to tell, otherwise Baertschi would have worked out fine.
I like that he really wants to score goals. Scoring goals is really hard to do at the NHL level, so it's always valuable to have a goal scorer. I haven't watched him enough to see how the rest of his game looks, but it seems like he can be an offensive player in the NHL.
