Will Hunter Shinkuruk make the flames next year?

As most of you know hunter has played really well in his 2 games. Small sample size i know but he has been our best winger the last 2 games (which shows how bad our wing depth is). Do you think he can play the full year with the flames next year and what type of production do u expect from him? Can he be the answer to our top line rw? I can see him scoring 30-40 points if he plays with johnny and monohan the whole year, maybe even more. What is everyones thoughts so far with the limited viewing we have seen of him?

Initial thoughts, I'm not going to judge with such a small sample size. We saw how the Baertschi story went.

agreed its a small sample size but if we dont upgrade the wings too much in the offseason i dont think he will have much competition to make the big club.

Yeah, only difference is though from the Flames perspective is would they rather put him in the bottom three of the Flames roster or let him play top 6 in Stockton for another season to work under Huska's system and play in various situations (PP, PK, etc).

For a kid showing some flashes, I'd definitely hate to rush him. Rather have him develop a bit more.

He was #9 in MH so it isn't out of the question.

His chances are decent. This team is lacking top 6 forwards and he has the skill for sure but needs a big summer

Yes I think so. We are in dire need of skill in our top 6 wings. He has it. No one else does other than Johnny.

I think him and Jankowski could steal spots if we don't make any major acquisitions up front over the summer. I'd wager we pick up one winger in UFA though.

An off season is a long time. Every year there's a new surprise out of camp who gets the first call up. Jooris, Ferland, Hathaway, etc. I wouldn't be surprised if Poirer, Klimmer, Hamilton or Agostino make the jump before Shikarak, just because training camp is biased towards those first games more than other experiences.

Remember Sven Baertschi? Let's not get our hopes up too high.

That said, I have been quite impressed with him the last two games and I think he'll have a pretty good opportunity to make the team next year.

I don't have anyone over anyone. I'm just saying anything can happen. Every season is a surprise. This year I thought Granlund would put up more points than he did.
