Heck of a defensive shift for Dubois. Love this player.

Mcleod has looked good. A lot of Steelhead fans think his game will translate better than Nylanders.
Thing is his game is similar to Monahan.

Sawchenko seemingly plays a pretty pure butterfly style. Probably won't make a mark on Flames scouts.

That'll be a problem for him at the next level, being only 5'11", but i see you point.

I doubt Sawchenko will be drafted before the 4th or 5th round due to size. Undersized goalies, even if they're good don't go high.

we just might if Hudler gets moved. I could see a team in the top 10 in the standings willing to move one for him.

Yeah, smaller goalies are going extinct in the NHL. Like, how many goalies under 6'2" or 6'3" are there left in the league?

Yeah, the NHL has been shifting to massive goalies. If you're anywhere under 6'2 it's a minus. Wouldn't count Sawchenko out though, whoever takes him in those rounds is going to get someone who battles and races towards a challenge. Darkhorse.

One of my favourite underrated goalies in the NHL right now is Jhonas Enroth and he's only 5-10. Probably won't be relied on more than as a backup though because of his size.
Don't know if there are too many teams out there that would go with a shorter guy as their starter because a BFG (big fat goalie) will stop almost as many shots just because the puck hits them.

Matthew Tkachuk was born when Keith was captain of the Coyotes?
Could have sworn it was when Keith was pregnant during his time in St Louis.

With the upcoming goaltending equipment changes being displayed this weekend, teams might start looking at the more athletic goalies again. Just something to think about, the days of the super padded big blocking goalies may be going out of style.

Maybe. He's got a weird gallop in his skating stride that reminds me of a young Eric Staal. I'm trying to think of a top C that was RH that tall and lanky and coming up empty.
He's got that Jay Bouwmeester skating style I think.
Dubois, McCleod and Gauthier are all very similar to me while watching this game. But McCleod has been a buzzsaw all night.

Sean Day might be a great grab in the 2nd round. One of the youngest players in the draft. Lots of development time to be had while under the organizations watch.

btw Pascal Laberge could be worth selling Hudler for. Plays a heavy game, and both his goals in this game have been pretty snipey and a right-shot too.

Something tells me Dubois is going to be drafted higher than projected.

Hopefully by the Flames.
Try not to put too much emphasis on the Prospect Game but this game is showcasing not only his offensive instincts but just how good he is in his own zone. A guy I really liked before and this game is only enforcing that.
